I'm something of a workout junkie. I push mow my lawn, shovel my driveway by hand, split countless cords of firewood with an axe, after hauling said trees out of the woods without hydraulics. I'm 6'3" 180lbs in the best shape of my life. Not to try to scare you or anything... :startled:

So if you find you don't like it, you can always send it my way. :D

It can't be that bad... I can drop start my 064 very easily. The 2188 is a bit tougher, but not terrible.

The only saws I don't even attempt to drop start are the 125C & 1-80 gear drive.Soon after getting it I tried pulling the 125's rope without pushing the decomp, damm near broke my finger when it snapped back.

The 1-80 is almost as strong, mainly its the weight + long bar that makes me keep it at ground level.

The 2100 & 288XP are easy compared to those two, they are drop started most of the time, even after setting a few days/weeks.

Well, what can I say? I guess I'm built more for dead lifting trees. I don't have nearly the amount of practice making rapid jerking motions as you fellas.

    6'3" 180 isn't exactly a deadlifter's frame...I know because that's exactly what I am. Those guys are usually 5'8" 250.

Shawn and that's real shape, here the point got a buddy who goes to gym a lot. went out to help older friends pick hay bails up before rain and he was gassed after 30 bales of hay. yeah he can do some machine for an hour but only 15 minutes of walk in a field and throwing 40 lb bales into truck and trailer. so you get the .

I had 2 066 flat top ported. 1 from WV builder the best one and the slower one from TN by another good but almost unknown builder. IMO there shouldn't be any comparison to a stock 660 or 661. Granted I never ran a 661 yet. Shouldnt even be close JMO.

Oh thats why I used a stihl 460 rescue handle too. No decomps.

If you plan on milling with that saw........use 25:1 and keep it rich. It should be fine with plenty of oil.

Put a few new filters in the saws this morning, and robbed the decomp out of the 036 to use in the 660. I have one on order from the dealer but it won't be in till next week, and I wanted to play. :)

This stubby scrench made a convenient tool for the job (thanks Dex!) I would have needed to remove the handle to use my deep well socket. Just needed to round the corners a bit in the bench grinder.

Took her for a spin on a couple nice maple logs that I'll be milling soon. Hot knife meet butter! :dex:

By the way I just had a guy bring in a stock 036 that did the same thing as your pics.

Did that happen right after getting it back from Tenn.? I traded with a member on here for a flat top 066 and the pawls disintegrated on the second or third pull after getting it. He was kind enough to offer to pay for new pawls but how should he have known that was going to happen? I have wondered if something happened in shipping.

    They just give up sometimes.

The 066/660 has about 210 psi when I get done with it. That will kill starters.......but not much sooner than a stock saw.

I blame age of parts. The guy had bought the 036 new and first time needed replaced.
