My honey just read all of your posts and wanted to thank you all too! It's helped a lot hearing so many stories. We all got em... and you've just helped to remind us we'll all get through... anything. Now, back to our regular scheduled wood chip chuckin'...
Yea back to wood chuckin... Isn't that dangerous letting her read all your posts.... She might find out what you really do on here..
For sure we have some fantastic members on here. We'll send along our prayers. Most of us no doubt have had problems similar to this in the past and my wife and I are reminded that not that long ago one of our sons went through some troubled times. He is executive level but still lost a couple jobs and most of the reasons some would not hire him was his salary. It scared them that if he took less, someone else would offer him more and he'd be gone. He did some business on his own and even organized a seminar in MI which went over great and he was well paid for that. Then another company did hire him and things couldn't look better for him right now. But we think back to the hard times and the depression that can grasp folks at times like these and it is not easy. Still, one has to hold the head up and face the world eye to eye. We pray this is a short lived thing and he will be better in the end.
I was talking with a roofer on the job site today and he said he needs someone bad! Dependable? Sober? Worker? Willing? Hired!
He's got a couple concerned parents...which is big advantage over some kids. Only after the dark clouds that bring rain will flowers bloom.
Our son stopped by for lunch today and we had a good visit. He's still looking for work but seemed a lot more positive about it all. Hope he finds something soon. Thanks again everyone.
Seems like a lot of networking going on in here. Stinny , has your son seen any of this? Ok, never mind, as you type faster than me, evidently. Show him some of these offers too.....ya' never know.
My plan was to show him all of the great posts here if it looked as though he was still draggin. But, he was fine. I did mention the radon biz idea... I think he's gonna look into it. The other ideas here were great but I know he'll never leave Maine. He's done a lot of things so... He'll find something I'm sure, now that he's got his chin lifted a bit... ... good FHC karma.
Sometimes a change of scenery is a good thing too. Glad he's feeling better, there's some good offers here.
if he decides to go that way, I could visit Maine and get him pointed in the right direction. do not hesitate to contact me
LOL!! Isn't that the truth!! That's what this country and world for that matter needs A LOT more of!! I LOVE IT! What a great saying, can't believe I've never seen that one before.... thanks....
Thanks. I wrote that for the first time for a friend a few years back. Not sure when or if I read that somewhere. I must have though as original thoughts are usually beyond my pea size brain's capacity. Being on a wood forum I should have modified it to say "Only after the dark clouds that bring rain will trees grow"
You sir are a good man!! I hold you in very high regard for many reasons. This post above is one of them. You deserve the future you have built in St. Croix!
He sure does Dex. He and I have been going back and forth today. His offer to give my son a hand is very generous and appreciated.
He called today. All's good. Still lookin for work but he's got some leads and seems much more optimistic.
