    Through Fahrenheit directly

If your inspection panel let's you clean the combustion blower? Then you shouldn't need to get in the back of the furnace very often.

I did the same as 343 for awhile (kept a few screws out), but now I have just left it off.

I want one of those. Seen another manual Fahrenheit for sale and it went like a flash. I'll hold up for a automatic one, after seeing this it might take much longer for a recent one to pop up!

I removed what they call a "blade cover". That is a restriction in my opinion.

But my furnace needed all the help it could get (as far as air flow) when I got it.

I ordered a gasket for that cover and I recieved it......along with a hopper extension for some bad experience I had with my dealer!

I'll have to check how to install since the hopper has a switch that is pressed when the lid is closed.

Pretty sure you just jump the switch. Remove the back plate and unplug and install a jumper wire.

Matt emailed me the install instructions, the switch needs to be connected to itself to complete the circuit, easy enough. The back panel I think is blocked by cold air return.

I put it on top to see about the height, looks like it will be very high to fill.

You will have to remove that back panel to get to the switch and install the jumper. Your cold air return may be in the way, but once you remove it? Leave it off for future maintenance.

The whole cold air return plenum that connects to the stove should be removed every year or every other to clean the distribution blower and lubricate it.

And yeah, it's very tall with the extension. My Brother in Law (chbryson) has one on his Fahrenheit.

Really, remove cold air plenum? Wow ductwork is suppose to be a permant install. That sure does suck.

Yeah, it does suck. Especially with a very nice install like yours.

The blower needs cleaning and oiling. Much like your standard furnace needs maintenance (just accessible through a different area). And as noted above, that is where the 2 wires are for the hopper lid switch.

Pellets are cheaper than Fuel oil and ProPain. But they come with a tad more involved maintenance schedule. The only motor on these that can be oiled is the large Distribution blower. And that is behind your cold air return plenum. I don't have my cold air return hooked up, but I also heat my basement with a wood stove (a lot of the time, but the last few weeks I have only had a couple fires). The furnace still does a great job, even though the basement may be 54°.

I cheated when I put mine together. i put a start collar on the house cold air return. The 10" round duct slides over the start collar but the round duct isn't screwed to the collar.

There is another start collar on the plenum side, but I bent the 'fingers' back so it isn't fixed to the plenum. It just keeps the duct from falling into the return plenun. The round duct is a tight fit, but I can give it a bit of a shove and it pops right off the furnace return plenum. Take off the plenum, do what needs doing, put it back on, slide the return duct on, job done.

It takes about 30 seconds to remove and reinstall the cold air return when necessary.

We do our best to accommodate future inspections & cleanings in our crafty installations. Gotta be innovative at times to make life easier. Take for a instance; my exhaust cap on my DT-M vent, the tabs are slightly bent to able to easily remove for cleaning. I might replace with a big adjustable hose clamp if the collar is giving me fits down the road. Good point on the return plenum, will keep that in mind when I get around to finish mine.

Just bought my used F50 last month. In the process now of finishing the install, just need to get someone in to do the vent piping. Mine had the red led light control panel but was replaced for free by Fahrenheit because the red led control panels have been recalled.
