I like the sound of the 6100, but I enjoy build threads whichever model is done.

Ok here they are and give me some opinions. These saws run very very close but you can tell the difference. The 27 blowdown will produce around 400 more RPMs in the wood it really likes 11800 with a light hand. The 29 blowdown likes 11400. But here's were I started a bad thread on AS that was torque vs chain speed. The 29 blowdown can be dogged a little harder so cut times are all in the same. If you lay the saw on the wood and just let it cut. No dogs what so ever the 27 bd wins if you apply just a little dawg the 29 blowdown wins. I cut probably 20 ft of tree in cookies and still couldn't decide which one I likes better. I don't think you can lose with either. Both would produce a consistent 14-15 sec cut. Just adjusting to each saw took a couple cuts. I'm thinking maybe a 102/28 would give and take the best. So hammer away boys and let me hear what your thinking. I'm going to leave both saws as they are. Play with the timing and see if I can get a few people to run them and see what they think. I think I'm down to where it's operator preference.

I figured that would be about the conclusion. I'll have one here next week and I hope to play with it this next month. I'll probably go 101 128, 79-80.

After watching and hearing both? I like Saw 1:)

As you said, it holds some more RPM in the cut.

I like the 102/131/80 .............. on a 32" setup, this saw should really shine above saw #1

I like the log lift you use. Every chainsaw user needs one of those.

Ok boys I want to add this in. I still have to do my ignition advance trials but this pair of saws is just about done. Fin460 has spoken for one but the other one is for sale. This first pair of saws is going out the door for $850 pho. Each will have probably 3 tanks tops ran threw them. I thought I'd offer it to the ones following the thread here and on AS first. If i havnt thanked you guys. Thank you for hanging in my slow build process and all the opinions as we have went threw.

That's what I'm thinking as well.

Both look to be good runners. Nice work!

Ok here's the flywheel off. On the built in keys it's very hard to measure and say file .050 off and it will give u 5°. So the arrow points to the side I file from. This allows the flywheel to be rotated ccw

I put my piston stop in and rotate the engine ccw till it hits. I mark the flywheel and the cases at this point before I file. I then take some off and put the flywheel back on loosely and remark the cases while holding it in the counter clockwise position. I then use my degree wheel and move it between the marks to see how much I have advanced it. I was aiming for 5° and got a little happy. These marks are 6° apart. You can also mark 5° before you start and file check file check. You get the idea. Lol.
