Hi from a fellow female :)

All the members here nice and friendly, my post below could have been ridiculed on different web sites but not here, and I seriously wonder if some husbands are raiding their ladies make-bags for blush brushes   Use the backscratcher to jump start it for now and fix it from the advice given here :) A lot of good trouble shooters here will help narrow down the problem.

You are in good hands here.

Could just be a need for some lubrication. You don't say in your signature what kind or model stove you have, but these pics may help with getting some lube into the motor bearings. If you don't see these holes, they may be on the bottom.....motor would have to be removed & rotated or lubed out of the stove. Use 2- 3 drops of light 20w non-detergent oil (read that as NOT car motor oil......3 in 1 oil works in a pinch, but their blue can oil is meant for electric motor bearings:

PS Put your stove make & model in your signature.....makes things much easier in the future

    imacman,
The motor looks like mine and I found the two holes.Glad you spelled out what kind of oil to use because I was going to reach for one of my two favorite tools WD40 and the other one being duct tape :). Glad I looked a little harder for the 3 in 1 oil. So I did my weekly cleaning and oiled the motor as in the picture you posted. Will see what happens. I thought that after the start up ignition sequence maybe around 10 minutes or so that blower should kick in. It doesn't do that anymore without a little winding up from the ole back scratcher. It's just random stuff that is happening. Stove will work for an hour or two or maybe even a day and then start blinking a red code. Then I restart a couple of times and off we go for the rest of the week till the next cleaning .... then we go thru the same scenario again.
I appreciate all who have taken the time to respond... Thank-you!!
Update on the Turnpike Acres Stove Shop- open seven days a week somewhere in the Universe !$%7*!! FlippinA!!!

good that you know how to il hat thing now, but don't discount the fact that the motor might actually be faulty anyhow, oil or not. Have you tried powering the unit directly to see if it runs independently?

Good point. If the motor starts right up with a direct 120v "jump power cord", then the problem is elsewhere.

If it was me, I'd give it another 2-3 drops of oil and spin it over by hand a bunch of times, then try again. May take a bit more lube if it's never been done before.

BTW, for the pellet stove "newbies"....this is what you want to have in your stove "tool kit" for lube:

    I agree with this. .

I have seen where only a few drops wasn't enough. On a motor that has been a little neglected, it may take a little more to get down and lube properly

Only if your squeaky and hard to turn on:rofl:
It would be part of your annual maintenance but only if motor requires it, could be a sealed unit.

I just ran through my manual, also searched for "oil, motor, lubrication, and lubricate" one at a time, no hits. And the maintenence section does no show oiling a motor either. I will be in the stove again in the next few days and look if I have sealed caps like you do. I remember the first automobile battery I bought that was sealed, interesting.

In my experience, if there are plastic caps over those oil ports, a few drops won't hurt anything.
