I am over this! It hit -30 last night and was still -21 when I got to work in Lansing. My car high idled for 10 minutes even being in the garage lol. We have burned a weeks worth of wood in 4 days and used up 3 bags more pellets than normal! Woo it's cold.
Zang! That is a bit cold even for you guys.... Betting you liking those dou heat sources. Keep after it.
That's darn cold buddy!! am totally over this winter. I thought it would be better than last year but so far it has only been marginally better.
Just be glad that the media hasn't been using the same two words that they used last year to describe the reason for the cold. I had enough of that.
Yeah I think most of us have had enough of this cold. We had -20 wind chill the other day and may have tonight again. -2 this morning and 0 this morning. Not as cold as Pallet Pete but still cold! I feel like I've burned 2 weeks worth of wood in the last few days! I like winter but I am ready for this cold to stop!
25.7ºF here right now Cold advances to here today. Woke up to another 2 inches of snow on the ground. We sure have won the snow lottery this year.
Hang in there buddy......we had a balmy -8° last night. S'posed to be even colder tonight. I've been burning walnut and I'm just now tapping into some 3 yr seasoned white oak, just in time for the next cold snap coming next week....... I've been burning both stoves 24/7, and even though the walnut makes a ton of ash, it's been holding fires all night (I do have to add some wood in the middle of the night when the wind is howling though). I've burned a good bit the past week because of the cold and wind....

Slight warmup for the northeast this weekend, a front is bringing us some rain and 40 deg temps. Not looking forward to either.
I can relate to Pete on this one.... Even more disturbing is the 10 day forecast showing no end in site yet.
I've been averaging two tractor loader buckets of wood per week (Sunday to Sunday). So far this week, I'm mostly through the third bucket and we still have three more days till Sunday! It's a cold one coming tonight too!!!
That's about what I burn a week too. I've been robbing the shed of small stuff since I been home during the day so I don't know how many buckets I'm on this week.
