the only thing I found was Bahco makes Oberg files and they are available from 7-35 dollars each. still need an answer are there teeth on the edges it does not look like it in some pics.
I remember when the last ones that sold. I was out of the game at the time and didnt care. I passed info to Dennis and he bought a bunch, Cliff already stocked piled and I think Mike got some. Last of my unused junk because I will never square file again myself. I suked at it and dont care who knows. But if you couldnt beat my crap in the chain build off's you were hurting.
Anybody have any detailed photos of oberg square chisel files ? Sorry I can't answer you ironpony. Ty Chris
Can always use diamond coated square files for finish like some tried. But after talking to couple of the top chain makers in REAL racing, they said it isnt worth it. Only if you want it to look pretty was gained.
I think you are missing my point. I didnt say anything about diamond crap being better then obergs did I? There is a reason the top chain makers wont sell obergs. I'm done here in this thread. Feels like we are running in circles over and over, gets old. Later.
I was agreeing with you. Thanks for your input . if you come across some for sale ,please let me know if you will? Ty Chris
The straight across teeth are smoother to start into a corner for me. Those double end from madsens work good and I carry some of them into the woods with me for touch ups or to file a burr off drive links if a chain is thrown.
Save edge ............. if your finish has lines, you are pushing too hard. Lighten up on the last few strokes and its smoothe as glass
I cant say on the pic but the Stihl......They are three square and junk. Might only go a third way down side plate. Pherds are better if you want to go that route.
I have a couple of bahco , save edge, pferd, goofy by save edge, . so Stihl double beveled ones are junk ? OK I want to get a few of vallorbe and viiala double ended I think not sure.
