Burned my first bag of these today, and I'm not impressed. Sets burn hotter, and these hang up on the walls of the hopper and don't feed well. I won't be buying any more of these, especially not at that price premium! I think I paid over $6/bag for these. No thanks.

I think Imacman was lubing his hopper (woah, that sounds bad) or his combustion impeller??

With graphite or an other. Propelled solid spray??

I used Behold furniture polish on the hopper walls....worked as well as anything else. As for the combustion fan blades, I used spray graphite, as recommended by Mike Holton.....worked great and slowed the burned ash build-up WAY down.

This was after my record-setting 60 bag run (w/o opening the front door).....blades had been sprayed w/ graphite:

I vacuumed out the empty hopper w/ a brush attachment, then sprayed the Behold direct onto the hopper walls.....a good rub with an old rag and the walls were nice & slick. I sprayed the same as if I was doing a piece of furniture.

I don't seem to be having any problems with the AWFWP.
geez... are we all talking bout the same pellets here?:loco:

    t's 12:40AM and threw a bag in about 8PM...
    WOW!!! Frigin Hot!!
My hand is at least 12 inches away from the blower grill and it's scalding too much to keep there..
Room/Manual set at 72/feed #3.. Blower between Low and Half...
barely any ash. Actually Almost No ash........these are as hot as Blazers if not hotter.
Hotter than my Energex Goldens...Burning Clean.. No Sooty ash.. glass is clean//
Very F........Impressed...No problem with any pellets hanging up in the hopper.
I only burned 2 bags of my 30 bag Blazers back in December so hopefully it will still be cold tommorow night so I can burn a bag and do a fair comparison.

I should have stated although barely any ash in the burnpot,
on ramping up after low maint burn,[I call it simmering] Lots of fireworks with the fly ash..
burning a bag of dry creek right now then a bag of forest pride left from the trade..

I think we're talking about different brands/models of stoves here too. Some don't have a very steep angle on the hopper walls.....pellets won't slide well. Some of the "solutions" mentioned are just to help things out.

Dry creek pellets/ No Complaints... medium ash/ good heat.
Freedom fuels...bit more ash/ good heat..
Okie golds/Great heat/ medium ash which was bit sandy corse feeling.. no biggie.
Okie Platinums../Greater heat/low to zilch ash.
and of course my post about AWFWP's..my fav of the bunch.[1st time this year burning any softwoods]
All and all, the 5 brands I burned I would use again...
Milage will vary depending on stove so can;t go by me 100% Since using a Harman freestand P series you pretty much have to toss in Old Roy's dog food to really have Issues with heat, Ash, glass, exhaust etc...
