I have been running saber pro at 100:1 in a poulan 245a for over 3 years and have never had a problem. In fact , It seams to run better, less smoke, virtually no carbon build up. Run it in my J-reds and efco. Very cost effective with peace of mind. You may think no way, I have yet to have an issue, even at extreme heavy use.

I have been selling sabre pro to many customers and they like it. They keep coming back for more.

You don't see the carbon build up in the exhaust ports, fouling of plugs and such. When running leaner I noticed less smoke and even better idling and smother running on amsoil.

The 245a seems to like it over the conventional oil. Seems more robust and has a different smell than standard oil. Not as heavy on the lungs.lol.:smoke:

    Very interesting.

Checkout some of the oil threads here.

They are within a page or two.

I think full synthetic is the way to go personally. But if I had to choose conventional it would be husqvarna oil!

A bit off topic but, I let a friend borrow my 2255 J-red with a new sugihara 20" bar and he bent the bar tip. Almost to the point of binding chain and sprocket tip. Maybe should have installed a titanium bar! Lol. My rant for the day.

The new sabre pro oil from amsoil also contains a great fuel stabilizer. Helps with ethanol and such. Of course many oils are these days.

You get to check your bearings more often....like Mike said, the case bearings need lube too....

40:1 Dolmar full synthetic oil (or Stihl Ultra synthetic) w/ 93 octane Hess gas (the ONLY station with separate hoses for each grade).

I have never fouled a plug out in everything from weed eaters to saws to my boat motors some of which were pushing 40 years old. I think fouled plugs stopped happening when 30wt @16:1 fell out of fashion. Assuming you have good healthy ignition system.

I use to use it. Its semi syn. But I switched when I went full syn. And I was glad Randy and Terry said that was some of the worst oil for leaving carbon deposits.
