If it stays like this I will be putting the snow blower away for the lawn mower.

Nice! Out of curiosity what leaf blower do you use? I need to get one of these set up here shortly. I like that you use a piece of flex to get it away from the house, genius!

Where does the other end of the flex pipe hook to?

The end of the chimney system where the termination cap is located. This way it can suck all the ash out of the chimney and from what I've read it can also clean out the stove as well. Keep in mind it's still a good idea to pull the combustion fan once a year and clean off the fan blades as they will probably still have gunk on them. I use a small wire brush for this.

Leaf blower does a very good job of sucking ash out of the stove too. DO NOT FORGET TO DISCONNECT THE VACUUM HOSE FROM THE SWITCH IN YOUR STOVE BEFORHAND. Better to be safe than sorry than to screw up any vacuum switches.

It's just a standard Toro with the Vacuum/leaf shredder option. Can be had for about $60.

Yup, I undo mine. And to get the SOB back on I use a tiny bit of dishwashing liquid on the tube connection.

For those that may be unaware, you will need to replace the gasket on the combustion fan when you take the combustion motor off.

I didn't have to  but mine was only a year old. In most cases yes it needs to be replaced. I wish I could find a sheet of the material these gaskets are made of http://www.stove-parts-unlimited.com/Quadrafire-1000-Exhaust-Blower-Gasket-Large-p/812-0291.htm

They would hold up to years of being removed and re-installed. I don't even know what to call the material besides "high temp silicone infused ceramic fiber wonderfulness". Everything these days is that cheap felt like ceramic fiber stuff that tears in half if you just look at it funny. I tried to google that term but nothing came up :D

Didn't Donnie come up with something reuseable? Like the AE uses on the comb blower...
