Just take a look at the cutters on the PS real close..
Sorta small, but extremely sharp and aggressive... The angle of engagement right off the reel is about all most saws want to pull!!

I still say full size 3/8 filed correctly, is faster on anything over 3 hp...

.325", its what is on the 2252 and what my 346xps all ran. The latter were .050" so the narrow kerf stuff was readily available.

I think I am confused then, I was thinking picco was the same as what Oregon calls narrow kerf.

Had a guy here with a ported 346 and running NK325. I ask him why. He told me. I said let me pull your stuff off swap out to 3/8 or even regular 325. Lets just say after the test sessions and swap the saw left here with 3/8.
NK325 was the slowest and only IMO attended for underpowered saws JMO.

Yes... I was just mentioning the other intended use of the .325NK chain...
It's become popular with the chainsaw milling folks cause of the narrow kerf and nicer finish supposedly.
Also, ripping lengthwise, tooth profile means little due to removing dust instead of chips..
Not sure why anyone would want to outfit their 50cc saw with it for firewood...

Hedgerow, I purchased 2 PS chains and after taking a close look I see what you mean. They are nasty little boogers. I'm not for sure if there is much to gain, round or square. The factory did a great job with a nice hook, angle under the top plate, and sharpness of the top plate. The only issues I noticed were different cutter lengths, which I find common on new chains. But never as sharp as these OTB.

First 2 pics are OTB and second two are my attempts to improve with round filing. I tried for a complete arc down the side plate and I achieved a little bit more radius under the top plate. Tomorrow I hope to bevel file another. Test will soon follow to see.

They are sharp little buggers, but what I find most interesting is the factory raker height......... 0.017
