During the startup procedure of my stoves, I had always put a couple drops of light oil (3 in 1 or teflon-based TufOil) into the bushing....never had an issue.

Well it doesn't say I have to pull the auger or lube the bushings in the manual. So I'm going with a defective part! :p

5 years of use and never lubed, Plus to wear the flange clean off. It had to be stuck and spinning for a while. I guess I better add the lube once a season or pull it every once in a while.

You should have noticed the metal shavings. I vote weld that sucker to the plate and use a liberal amount of dry moly on the auger shaft.

The flange is the thrust surface for the auger.

Well, I do blast the crud of with an air tank. Might have seen it if I didn't do dat! I did notice some bronze fillings stuck on the auger motor once I dropped it. But it was already too late.

Don't forget I'm an old quad burner. Ran the little beauty for 8 seasons and never pull-lube the ol cork screw auger once! :emb:

It will have some metal to thrust against just not its former flange. Sometimes you have to be creative, just don't get flustered if your creation bites you in the hind end.

Get a proper critter as soon as possible and remember what happened to the former one so you don't have a repeat.

The plate had a worn area/spot were the flange used to be. Plus all the replacements(current and the old revision numbers) all showed they have flanges.

Notice the replacement plate has a flanged bushing as well.

Will do and I'll also stock up on other replacements. The bushings are cheap so I'll get 3. Prolly order a spare auger motor from Gleason along with the agitator motor too.

List might get rather long before I'm done. But a Low limit-High limit-Air Switch and the Agitator sprocket's will also be added. And any other thing I think I might keep me down for more that a day.

I definitely will add to the list of parts I already carry!!

    Control board √
    Combustion motor √
    Convection motor √
    Igniter √
    Air Pump √
    Agitator *used spare
    Agitator chain√

Did you check TSC for that bushing? I know they have std size flange bushings. (bought some for the front of my old Wheel Horse)

I'd have to drive to Brookfield(70 miles) to the nearest. TSC is 4 miles away and HB Guildford is less than 15 miles. Both are on my way home from work. Plus I aint seen my buddy Harvey in some time now!

Sounds like you got it covered Jay :) And wow do you have a nice list of spare parts!!

I noticed the bushing on my Fahrenheit is spinning (making a louder humming noise now). This thread has inspired me to look at it now. I did put some 3-n-1 oil on it last weekend, but it still sounds louder than it should.

Me thinks that the Dex is getting old, that pellet testing thing just doesn't seem to get his juices going anymore.
