Hey guys, what do you think a 1994 Woodstock Keystone catalytic in good shape would be worth? I going to assume the catalyst needs replaced. Just got a lead on one, and I'm curious.

From what i have heard from dealers of other stoves, any given stove loses about 5-10% of its value a year. And usually bottoms out at around 30-40% of its original cost. So with that math it would be $700ish, take out the price for a new cat and i would say 600ish if its in great condition. Realistically it would probably be closer to 500-600 due to thr age.
Having a hard time seeing what's going on in that pic, but that cat frame looks roasted. Moot point anyway, OP is an Indiana Hoser. As for the Keystone, I would go 1K+ if it was in great shape. Look around the bypass frame and cast iron cat scoop for warpage...but I think the scoop pretty easy to warp, I wouldn't be scared off by that. Low-ball him in that case.Warped bypass frame may be more serious. Look for white spots next to the seams, which indicate air leaks. Ask if he got it new, and if he's done any maintenance. Try to get a feel of weather he knows how to run a stove properly (ask how he proceeds from a cold start.) As fox asked, what is the layout and sq. ft. you'll be trying to heat?
Well, I was thinking of putting it out in front of the fireplace, and retiring the princess. It'd heat approx 800 Sq ft upstairs. But upon consideration of some of the points you folks have raised, I think I'll pass. Fellah was wanting 1800.00, but I think that's a little high for the 20 year old version of a 2300.00 stove.
Way too much. Pass on it. If you are willing to be flexible on location, you can find them for a grand cheaper, often.
