Excellent job, Stinny. Well-thought, planned and executed.......can't wait til we hear some testing results....

And since you used the FHC logo, I expect payment of at least ONE video of the whole operation as payment.....lol

The unsanctioned use of the copyrighted logo leaves him with with little choice..... :picard:

Welp... I didn't destroy the bin with the first 2/3 load yet. Got it in before it started pouring here too... Here's proof...

Rope worked great to hold the weight back while loading and to "lower" the heavier bin down the rails into the basement.

Tossed em down easy this first time and watched the sides for bulgin'. Not too bad.

2/3 full (2 JD buckets). The bin rolls OK with the weight. So far so good.

    Ahhhhhh... :fire:

Yeah, they roll perty good now, but if they were full above the top... dunno. I think the bottom removable panel, at least, needs a stiffener to help keep it from getting pushed out as the heavier weight shoves down. They push out about 3/4" now. If I can keep from destroying the bins chuckin in the splits, I think they'll work perty good overall.

Filled the 2nd firewood bin this morning, nice slow n easy. I realized it was the first time I could just get the JD, go over to the shed, load up and carry back to the Bilco... without plowing snow, building... something, moving something else first, etc. It was pure fun now. I loved it. #2 rolled thru the door into the basement with just a little bit of the sides bulgin'...

That was the really good part. What I was bringing in was the not so gooder part. This is the off-the-stump, in fall 2012, cut & split, 3 cords we bought when we first moved here. Oak and maple. Wetter than a beaver's tail. I have some fairly dry stuff I'll burn with these bins close to the stove (not too close o_O), as it gets really cold outside and the air dries out. May do the solar kiln cover next spring, on the 2 cords I stacked in racks this fall.

Nice job Stinster! Nice to use the JD to bring all that wood in? :)

Even with all the cutting, splitting, wood shed building etc. we all do, It's still a challenge to have enough really dry wood isn't it!? ;)
