True but I don't want it to die and wait 3-7 days for the part to show up.

So earlier today I tried the saw out on some pretty old fallen oak (probably been laying down for 4-5 years) and it would cut it but slow with heavy dust. I will try to throw a new chain on it tomorrow but I was just wondering if I may have lowered the high idle too far? Or maybe the rakers are set to high? It's 404 chain so that wouldn't surprise me.

That's what it came with. I know what one looks like. I never dealt with it as far as maintenance goes though.:emb:

Waaaaaaay too much cutter for 60cc's. Hell, it's borderline on a 90cc.

I'd be looking for a 3/8" setup for that saw.

Funny you say that, the chain I'm putting on it tomorrow is a 3/8".

Would that explain the big saw chunks though?

Oh yeah, .404" generally throws noticeably bigger chips as it not only has a larger cutter, the rakers are generally set a tad lower too.

Well I have four other chains of the stuff so maybe I'll drop it by the small engine guy to have them professionally sharpened. I thought maybe I did good enough with the one I sharpened but obviously not.

I don't have the time or shop space for a project so a runner would probably be best  . I'm also a broke college student, and projects can get expansive ya know?

So went to tension the new chain down today and realized the average scrench wont fit the tensioner. Where can I get one of these tools, a local auto parts store?

Upon further investigation I found the screw that runs the tensioner is missing, looks like I'll have to order one.:headbang: 2014-11-19 14.27.25.jpg 2014-11-19 14.27.03.jpg

I was gonna saw...a screwdriver. But see you figured out the tensioner is gone.

While you have that saw apart why dont you clean it a bit...blow it off with some compressed air.
