Englander/Drolet/Century: what brand should I get?

The good news is that its in and giving great heat. Unfortunately its too far back into the fireplace to use the faceplate. We had a heck of a time getting the stove, adapter, and liner to meet up. We are both beat, so I think it will stay bare this winter... Its called flex pipe, but its not "flexible" LOL

 

Can you trim the existing plate to fit in the recessed area? Or maybe fab a custom plate?

Looks great either way and insulating the liner was money well spent.

 

New observation, sustained wind eats logs, sucked a fully stoked firebox empty in 3 hours. I used to tighten the air caps all the way down and tilt the damper on my old stove, this one only has one lever. Thank goodness its not our primary heat.

 

You have me thinking. This is the first time its done that after running 24\7 for days now.

The best explination I can come up with is that my husband forgot to close the door this morning @ 7 am, but you'd thing I would have smelled smoke!?! When I checked it at 10 am there were ashes dancing & flying inside, it didn't phase me because my other stoves I had to open the door to see, and the wind suction would pull those ashes but this was through the glass w door closed. This is a sealed stove, should they blow and get sucked up the chimney with the door closed?

I just stole the thermometer from the pellet stove, stuck it on the side of the firebox. I will monitor it tonight when he lights it again. Something doesn't add up eh fox?

 

I think you nailed it, I should have said cracked open. The draft was less than 1/4 open. Little emabarresed, should I delete the false alarm post above?

 

I put in 2 more logs that didn't light, so the fires been out since then...

there is a couple inch's gap on the side before the faceplate starts, I stuck it there. Where would you suggest?
