Aren't the first two choices the same? RS and RS3 RS3 is "Single-Humped drive link" version of an RS chain, right?

I find the chain docs very confusing... and apparently so do the dealers! I also wish they would include a file size code with each. So the below chain SHOULD be: 25" 84 3/8" 0.05" Rapid Super 13/64" (file size)

RS3 has a safety hump to reduce kick back
    RS no safety hump
RSF is RS full skip tooth chain.

From the folks I know using sq, it does not dull faster. Takes practice to be able to file it right, I'm not there yet.

I'd think the 362 would run a full comp chisel 25" chain just fine.
Skip tooth will be no problem.

I tried a skip tooth on the 20" Husqy 359.
Went back to the full comp chisels, RS & LGX.
Much faster cutting, & no problem with rpm.

This year , I actually found that somewhere near 3/4 throttle was more efficient cutting for me.
I was getting bigger chips & faster cuts at lower speeds.
No idea why, but I could feel & hear the difference.
Maybe it was just me, but when you're out in the woods with no one around,
having fun cutting , you seem to notice the small things. :)

Running a saw at less than full throttle under load can be bad for it. Saw carburetors are just not sophisticated enough to guarantee proper tune at less than WOT conditions. Lower RPM's will tend to lean out the mixture as well. Sounds like you could use a little lower raker on the chain. ;)

    Thanks
Saw is on the list for PM & winter storage .
Needs cleaned , sharpened & fuel dumped
I'll check the rakers, chain looks almost new, rakers not filed on it yet.

Sure fast cutting green birch . :)

still 3/8 chain has always used 13/64 although the oregon and carlton use 7/32"... also stihl changed their bars slightly this year and the 84DL 25" chain is now a 85DL... that will be interesting in a few years...

Pretty sure it's 60 DL? Not home to look..

    MasterMech, 60 is correct? No?

I will PM you later. I have a loop I can send. Or I would buy the loop and your time (and shipping).

    Why?
I can see it if you use the nose of the bar a lot, but even then , the hump just reduces
the size of the bite the cutters take. Reducing kickback energy, but not stopping it.
On the top & bottom of the bar, there's no real difference in performance.
Cutting speed should be the same.

    See the following....

Cutting speed is very close until the nose of the bar comes into play as the same cutter is used. The only difference is in the drivelinks. But I can most certainly feel the difference once the nose of the bar is buried. So felling using bore cuts or bucking up wood beyond the bar length, PS really shines over PS3. And on a top-handle saw, With the bar buried in a trunk 20, 30, 40 ft up, I'm sure the tree jockeys appreciate the extra speed.

I've run some LPX before I knew much about saw chain.
Have a couple new ones. Gonna try to remember to run it next Oct.
For my type of cutting I don't remember much difference between
the LGX & the LPX for general cutting speed.

Rare for me to bore cut but I sometimes use the nose when undercutting
while bucking. I use the energy of the kick back to pull the saw into the cut.
Might be a little safer & a tad slower with the LPX, not racing speed.

I'd think safety chain would be a good thing when up in a tree. But
I don't do that type of cutting to know , but I did it done on TV
    & I've seen some of Scotty's pictures :) LOL
