OK here are some pictures of it I took last night. It came with the case too. I have to get some acetone to remove his initials all over the saw. This guy had two saws stolen prior to owning this one.

Use alcohol, not acetone. Neither is friendly to plastics, but the acetone could do real damage. I'd use rubbing alcohol (which is diluted) rather than straight solvent alcohol.

Yea I would be care full with the solvents and plastics. Might dull them or partially melt them. Make sure you google that one close or get some more opinions from the experts here.

Make sure you test in a small area too. Acetone will take the plastic off along with the marker, most likely.

I'd just leave the marker. Looks like a clean saw

Where? Can you post the link? Thanks

As far as the alcohol and acetone goes I have used it on plastics. It will take a small amount of plastic off if you use it sparingly. I would rather have a dull spot rather and just put my initials there. Put a little on a rag and wipe it quick and get more aggressive as needed. 3M adhesive remover is good too and doesn't harm surfaces.

"If" you have a marine store near you or a boat shop of some sort, you can get an item made by interlux called 333 special thinner and it "won't" eat or harm the plastic. It may take a bit of elbow grease but it will take off the marker. As some said, I would just make black squares over the initals and call it a "designer saw" :p:D.

To remove the marks I will start off least aggressive with the alcohol and then acetone on a q-tip would be my last resort or I may color them in. Thanks for the link to the mod. For this weekend I will have to use it as it is, I have 3 cords to deliver and 6 to buck up and haul.

I tried about everything to get permanent marker off a white plastic name tag recently; gas, glass cleaner, degreasers, surface cleaners, oven cleaner, etc.
    Nothing worked.
Then I tried some Gojo with pumice hand cleaner, it wiped right off, completely.
Not sure it would work on saw plastic.....

Or Dolmar PS-5105. Pro saw with fer-real power for price of 291, with both new. A no-brainer.

My mod is real easy. Some others go to much more extreme. The mod I did kept it reasonably quiet and gave it more power than it had, I was happy
