I don't have big money lol, but I could get the endurance new for 3k. I can't find a used one like dex for 2k, I looked.
Dex did you do the HD duct like in my pic? I wonder if that is cheaper or if the square is cheaper and adding the insulation?

I have only a 450cfm blower and I feed 5 ducts off my trunk. 1 in each of the 3 bedrooms. 1 in the main hall and 1 by the sliding door in the living room(added after it froze in the cold spell). You could probably go with more ducts off the drolet if needed?

I used 10" round up about 4 ft and into the Main duct that runs the length of the house. I feed 7 registers. 2 in the living room/kitchen (all one big room), 1 in my daughter's room, 1 in my son's room, 1 in their bathroom, 1 in our master bath, and 1 in out master bedroom. The dining room and family room are the only 2 rooms that don't have ducts. But the air that is fed to the 3 bedrooms and the 2 baths, has to travel back through those 2 rooms to get back downstairs (this is what I was talking about several posts ago. Feeding the air to the farthest portion of the house, and having that warm air return back to the other end).

I can snap some pics in a bit, of how the furnace is ran into the duct work. I have manual dampers installed above my LP furnace. The pellet furnace has a gravity back draft damper (automatically opens when air is blown through it, and closes when airflow stops)

Here's how I hooked mine up. This was right after I did the install and before I insulated the ductwork.

So if you used your existing ductwork then you had to installed a damper abover your existing furnace right?

    From my above post.

I had these installed by the same people who ran the insulated ductwork. They also inspect my air conditioning every Spring :)

    Hello

I just installed a Castle Serenity. If you like a brand new stove with a nice LCD control panel with a Remote Control for short money that is tall and slender it is a good buy!
Nice voltage control of blowers and diagnostics too!

My wife noticed that when I showed her the furnace pics. She wants to do that too but doesn't understand it.

Congrats. I think you'll be happy.

I get my pellets from a combination of places, mostly a local chain store called Family Farm and Home. They're close to home and carry Pro Pellets, which have treated me well. The Fahrenheit will burn most anything, its just a matter of how often you'd need to clean it. I'm guessing by your avatar that you're in Connecticut, so I'll let jtakeman chime in as to what brands to avoid in that area. The old advice "when it doubt, buy a few bags and try them out" applies no matter where you live.

Quite a few members use Selkirk DT. It has the advantage of the OAK being combined with the exhaust in one pipe, so there is only one hole that needs to be made to get the vent outside. I used Selkirk VP as I was able to get it locally, I had a couple pieces that came with the furnace when I bought it, and I don't have any plans to burn anything other than pellets.

I have DT on my stove upstairs. I love it!!

As for the pellets? Well, the Fahrenheit will burn anything (literally), but a better pellet, will give you better heat.

Do you have any brands you have seen around you? That you can list here? That will help

    Congrats! !

    Hey, I was snoozing! :D

Connecticut has several pellet house's and about every box store/super market and even some gas stations selling pellets. What area are you in Triple A?

Some quick tips for box stores are these brands.
    AWF
    Somerset
    Timber Heat
    Pres to logs(lignetics)

Or as Dexture said, The 50F isn't gonna care as much as a pellet stove. Its designed for higher ash fuels. Still better to feed it the best pellet you can afford. More heat out of it and less cleaning chores. Name off the brands you see locally and we'll rate them for you.

Unfortunately, Prices are on the climb right now and we have area's that are shy on availability. So might be a bit of a tizzy to locate a decent brand on the cheap. $250/ton seems to be the lowest price these days.

Might want to add Stove Chow and Fireside Ultra to that list.
