I am thinking bout makin an adapter....basically a box that will slide over the rectangle exhaust and cut a hole that is round and go up with stove pipe. What size do you suggest 6 or8"?

I would say 8", looks like a big stove and probably a big wood eating machine.

Your probably better off selling it and getting something more efficient. It may not even be legal to install anymore insurance or code wise.

Hmm that stove is gonna burn lots of wood and probably smoke alot too creating lots of creosote.. Personally I'd get an EPA stove to reduce wood usage and creosote output (not to mention pollution).. Good luck whatever you do..

If you go with a 6" flue and it doesn't work out you can always get rid of that stove and get a newer stove, nearly all of which, run on a 6" liner/flue. No waste except for your rectangle-6" adapter... The difference between running a 6" flue and an 8" flue (assuming you have to purchase new) is going to be about the cost of that stove.. If you get an 8" and don't like it, you're going to have a harder time finding something else that is compatible and will likely have to sell the 8" pipe for cheap.

Got any pics of where you're going to install it?

No pics of its home yet...It is a work in slow progress. I plan on its home eventually being centrally located in an old grainary that I am converting into a camping/hunting shack. The stove will mainly be used as an extender for the season. Hope to get out early in the year April/May and then extend camping season into November. This dream will be accomplished much more easily if my Mama Bear can have warm to enjoy. So the little I will have invested into the stove will be worth it and fuel consumption is not a huge concern. Being a Rookie at this wood stove thing I sure am appreciating all the help and info being provided here!

Ok, that gives us much more to go on. For the application you describe this stove should serve just fine. Start searching Craigslist http://zoomthelist.com for used 8" Class A chimney pipe. It's amazing how often you see Class A flue systems torn down and offered for sale after just a few years of use. Buy all the same brand and model because different brands are not interchangeable and different models within the same brand may not be compatible either.

My neighbor has a stove that has a rectangle takeoff to round adapter. I think the stove was there when he bought the place so not sure if he would know where it came from. Generally speaking if it's made that way I'm sure someone makes an adapter. Good luck.

I have looked and on the tag the icbo I think is 3340. If this is correct it is a number used on many models...maybe a spec number or a UL reference number????? Might go to a heating n plumbing shop and see if they can look up in their grand wizard parts bible any info.

We had a pre epa Schrader woodstove with a large firebox in my previous home. It was perfect for when the furnace could not keep up with cold temperatures and when the electricity went out (which was often). It ate lots of wood but burned hot, worked well for us. PS, I heard grain dust can be flammable.

I think I will like it when we git it up n runin. As for the graindust I'm not worried. I plan to power wash inside before we start fixin up. Not only for dust but also to clean out any haunta virus. Really sad but a local family lost a 24 yr old son this summer to it.

I am sorry to hear a young man died from that. There have been several deaths from HantaVirus over the years in Colorado, Heart-Breaking. We had deer mice in my colorado home and now here in Wyoming. Years ago when we had our dirt floor crawl space foamed it was suggested to mist the dust with water w bleach, but I dont think that would help with a stove... We wore white surgical like masks to remove the fiberglass insulation from the floor joists in preparation for the spray foam, we did not get sick. At the least, use a mask when you clean it.

Incidently, I had conversation with GE appliance today and the nice gal that helped me was in ND. I recognized a friendly northern accent:)

it needs some welding done to it , the back of the stove in the pictures above look at the bottom of the flue "collar" where its welded on , the stove is cracked coming out of that corner, needs to be welded before putting into service
