Haven't ran Blue Samson in 2 weeks, it's spring in Dixie, so no telling what you'll find. Went to the woodyard yesterday evening, uncovered Blue Samson and found this on the back side of the pusher plate... Probably a house wren, luckily no eggs present yet, so got evicted.
Those wrens sure like to buld their nests back in little hidey-holes. Glad you found it before it was permanently occupied.
It's been a good week in Dixie. Monday a guy gave us some trees he had taken down with an excavator. Some we had to limb and cut off the stumps We took the sweet gum and limbs and piled that in the woods . We got a nice load of oak... Tuesday we went back to our friends place and cut pines. Pines, pines galore thread. Wednesday we helped an old friend take down part of a pecan tree... We took off 3 main stems... Another friend helped and got a trailer load of farwood We left a nice pile of logs to process this fall... He will get a local tree service to come take the rest down. The main trunk was huge, and looked to have some rot. Didn't want to chance something going wrong and hitting his house.
Wednesday afternoon we hauled a big brush pile off for some more neighbors... Took 2 loads and we also cleaned up a few more privet clumps
We did a little work at our son's place yesterday. Ground up a few stumps, removed a pine tree, and made him a garden spot. Used the Catawba grapple, broke some roots around the pine and L4802 did the rest... Headed to the brush pile... Used the grinder on a couple stumps in the garden area that we could see, then just ran grinder over the whole spot, took care of some other roots and small stumps. Didn't get a picture after we ran the tiller over it, it's very dry down here...
