They finally released the 22x Smith & Wesson M&P 22X Series .22 LR 4.1" Barrel 20 Round 2 Mags I ordered one
I’ll be using my 284 Winchester in Michigan, then my newer 400 Legend for the Illinois deer hunt. They are mostly sighted in, I’ll do another check before the hunt. My usual ranges are 50-120 yards, nothing crazy.
I used to 'sight' my 20 guage each year until I realized that it never 'moved' from where it was originally put. Exceptions for hard drops...but the scope is quality and so are the rings. 1-1/2" low and about 3/4" to the left is where they always land at 100 yards if the guy working the trigger does his part. Edit: Considering taking a .357 bolt gun this year. Have to resight if so as it's set for deadnutz with 158gr .38spl with suppressor, which is not rated for .357 pressures. Not at all comfortable throwing a pill at a whitetail only travelling ~900fps. Probably sufficient by placement but no kinetic slap.
Really liking the 22x it's going to be my favorite .22 pistol if it's as reliable as my Tx .22s It's slimmer and sleeker than the tx .22
Sheesh....just took me 20 minutes, a cell phone, a PC and a document scanner to get everything required by Federal to give me back $20 on rebated ammunition. Trying their 'Hammerdown' .357 loads. They claim to give great performance out of handgun or rifle as far as bullet behaviors. I don't care about that, I just know they are a 170gr pill launched at 1600 fps from a 16" barrel. I will be carrying some variety of .357 for our deer gun season. Wheelgun if feeling lazy. Lever if feeling ornry. Bolt if feeling like I'll see one that counts. Off property shooting session scheduled for saturday to resight. Keltec CP33 is my current favorite 22 pistol. I took to it like a pig to mud (it's fun as all getout with a brace on it). Still getting familiar with my TX. I put the SR22 in the truck last weekend but did not end up getting to use it. Recently, A Beretta double duece has come to my possession. It's not a Neos, just old reliable 92 version. I wonder if I can shoot a smiley face with it like Mel Gibson did? lol
Local gunstore had these tisas px9 duty for 220.00 so I bought one I thought the arex delta and smith 2.0 had the best trigger's but this has the very best out of the box trigger I've ever had Better than the caniks I had it's a little over 3lb trigger pull it takes some getting used to but I was impressed with the build quality and accuracy It takes sig p226 mags It comes with a 20rnd and a 18rnd Can't believe this was so inexpensive it feels like a 4-500.00 pistol They also had a carry model 15rnd for the same price I have plenty of compacts.
Some years ago I bought a Walther 9mm because it was dirt cheap and had a threaded barrel. It's a PPX model. Kinda ugly. The trigger is fantastic. It has a wall, but it's the easiest and cleanest breaking wall I've come across in a pistol. Reset is super short and positive.
Rural king had the standard PDP compact for 350.00 with 10% off discount they're running I already have plenty of compacts so I passed on it Great pistols though.
I'm out of pistol buying at the moment. Walther has several offerings that I find interesting though. I remember now I paid 300 for that PDX and thought I was stealing it due to the barrel threads which were less common and therefore drew a premium at the time. I love guns like that. Low expectations were blown out of the water after feeling the trigger. It's still ugly but it does shoot very nicely. It bothers me that manufacturers will make a pistol to accept a silencer but leave regular height sights on them which become mostly useless if you have a muzzle device attached of any diameter. Fighting a head over heels fixation with .243WIN currently. Savage is out front as research continues.
