None, but it dries...we ran the big 42" fan on it for a while. It won't be used for a couple years, at least...I hope...planning on this being personal stash.

Wednesday evening we got 5-6 more logs from the pile that we recently brought home...
Used the Echo XS2511T and XS4910 to git'ter done... 1000016242.jpg
The pile of Blue Samson fodder... 1000016249.jpg
I started Thursday morning splitting while Miz Carol was doing errands in town...she made it back and helped with the last rounds...
Made a nice pile of splits 1000016250.jpg 1000016251.jpg
Then the stacking fun began...set the last row at the edge of the shed, and filled the gap behind it with ugly splits... 1000016252.jpg
Happy to see this side is full and had a little left over 1000016253.jpg
Should be close to 5 cords there...

There’s room for 8 more splits on top. Might be worth discussing during your annual performance review with your stacker.

I'll have that conversation with me, myself & I...lol...Miz Carol was handing it to me while I was on the ladder...
I thought air needed to blow across the top and the saw blade was fighting me.

    Time for a thread bump...
We had started splitting other wood and had kinda forgotten/covered up 2 more trailer loads of hickory logs from Hurricane Helene. We cut a couple to finish a load and saw the borers were under the bark, time to process it.
This pile was closest to the splitter...left side is pile 20251105_195100.jpg
We got a small pile of rounds cut, log pile is on the right 20251105_195108.jpg
We got the bigger logs out and bucked... 20251105_205640.jpg
    Split some after work... 20251106_210012.jpg
What we had left from orginal pile.
    20251106_210138.jpg
When I had a day off, we got the smaller logs left from that pile bucked, then started on the other load... 20251111_151215.jpg 20251111_153425.jpg 20251111_161127.jpg
This made a nice pile of Blue Samson fodder... 20251111_170220.jpg 20251111_170233.jpg
We split a good bit Wednesday and an hour Thursday afternoon...
Looks like we have about 40 rounds left... 20251113_160717.jpg
The mound of splits...we will stack it in the 2 cord shed behind it, planning on adding boards above the pallets so we can stack to roof... 20251113_160701.jpg

Good work, nice looking pile of splits. I also noticed how green your tree foliage still is in the pictures this late in November.

Some trees have already lost all their leaves, some are still hanging on. We had our first hard freeze Monday night

    Thats a lotta hickory. :jaw:

Yeah the borers can make a mess of it that's for sure. Funny how some of my hickory doesn't get touched by them and others a lot. Wonder if they prefer one species over another? Pignut and shagbark in my stacks here.

Will you stack bark on splits separate from heartwood or just mix them? I split off the bark when I make up smoker bundles.

It will all be stacked together. I want the sheds to look like this when full...and we have about 40 more rounds to split of the older logs.
And more hickory mixed in on newer loads to sort out

I counted the rounds this morning, 37 left. Got those split.
Pile in now complete. I did raise the conveyor again. Got equipment moved and trash/bark cleaned up.
Glad this was seen and not found with the saw... 20251115_102549.jpg 20251115_102555.jpg
The mountain of splits, need to get some measurements...any guesses on how much is there??? 20251115_123148.jpg 20251115_123229.jpg
Maybe we won't have to stack it all if Chud thinks some might be restaurant quality...just a short drive down here... 20251115_094758.jpg

Definitely restaurant quality perfect splits. If you were 4hrs away I would haul it away for sure. My Hickory supply is running low.

I took a better picture of the hickory pile this morning without the splitter and conveyor in the way. Outside pallet to pallet is about 16'. 20251116_062427.jpg
