Been working on a website for myself and got sidetracked into building a Cord calculator, figured some of you guys might find it useful, at least I hope so. Love to hear any feedback on it as well.

I’ll check it out next time I need one. Looks great.
I just entered some random measurements and it didn’t tell me how many cords, just “custom size”.

Be good to have actual cordage, like this:

Yep, can do. It recognizes Face or Rick cords and a regular cord so when it outputs cordage I will probably have it output amount in both. Could be fun to have it output total BTU as well.

    Maybe width should be length?

Not sure why one needs to enter 2 width measurements.

Maybe he was trying to avoid having two length measurements by having one a length and one a width. .

Coding must be so much fun. Former miner ?

    Made some improvements:

    - Field placeholders changed (more intuitive)
    - Theme changes
    - Mobile improvements
    - Now outputs total cordage in face cord and cord
    - Changed field naming
    - Warning added about weight in output

    In Progress
    - BTU estimate

Thanks for trying it and the feedback!

I think I am pretty much done with it now, with exception of adding a few more wood types. I improved output formatting, added aliases such as "Bush Cord" for Cord. Also added BTU equivalents for electrical and heating oil, and some fun random firewood facts.

    Thanks!

I enjoyed building that, so I am going to make another, but for tree volume. Will be able to give a rough estimate of how much cordage, weight, etc in a single tree, a pile, or even on a piece of land.

Welcome to the club. Lots of great folks here sharing knowledge and humor.

I like it, well done, sir.
    I used it on 1 row in the shed, 5' w x 8' high x 18" l, hickory.
Looks like Miz Carol and I will be warm, 8.8m BTU's/ row, got 6 rows so far, shed holds 9 rows. Other side of shed will be white oak... 39150.jpeg
