I sell white pine (only in the summer) in IBC totes filled halfway. Campers are the customers. It's cheaper and dryer than what the campgrounds sell and, unless they want to cook with it, makes for a really nice fire.

I'll probably give the softwood in the bundles a good shot next year around the lake. I'm in a similar situation with the local full time supplier putting out what most would consider lower quality bundles, but they're the only local company that produces them. Everything else is shipped in from out of state. I'm hoping I can produce a better product with enough supply to take a portion of that market. They're large enough to have a full time operation, and way more resources than have at the moment; trying to play my cards right.

That sounds like a good strategy. Some of what I sell can't be bought anywhere else locally. Even the bundles and small stacks of mixed hardwoods are good quality. I have no problem selling every split I produce.

What length are your splits for bundles? Same as your home stove size?

Mine are the same. I thought about going to 16” but it seemed like a hassle to cut two different sizes and then make sure it gets to the proper stack

Dont blame you there. 16" take it or leave.

I had a customer years back that took 20-24" splits. Didn't mind that too much.

I guess I wasn’t really clear. I cut to 18” for my stove. 16” just leaves to much of the fire box empty when I want a good load for all day or overnight. So right now my bundles are 18”

Local grocery store is down to 5-6 bundles and I said I would try to get them restocked by the weekend. I’m gonna be a little late but with it getting dark so early all I could do was fire up a couple Colemans and light a small fire and go at it. Was actually a really nice evening weather and temperature wise. IMG_2124.jpeg

Are you doing bundles this year? How is that going? My son and I just started bundles last month; we are busy. Looking at pitching to - two more locations at the end of the week. And trying to expand one account to 2 of their other locations. We have been lucky that 2 of our 3 bundle accounts (all commercial) are busy. We have one gas station, one grocery and on campground. We are right at 400 bundles sold and 600 more on order through the end of summer. Hopefully we get another campground and two more grocery stores. We have not tried any roadside stands. Can't complain its going well, bundles filling in the space between firewood deliveries. Good luck to everyone.

    No …..
I still want to get one set up at work, along the highway and right next to a convenience store/station.

I made 2 of them. One is at the grocery store. The other is in my backyard for storage of pre assembled bundles.
I have a bunch of bundles to make up. Grocery store sold the heck out of them the last 2 weeks, and the c-store up the road is about due for a restock. Probably need to get around 50 bundles put together. Plus I hear a rumor that another place is interested in contacting me about bundles

    Good deal. :makeitrain"

I have an order of 60 going out this morning. Three of my regulars are in close proximity to each other and i go by them often so they tell me to bring more when they are low. I think one of the others needs some too. I went by there the other day and he was on the low side.

the 60 from today. He has another rack with about 30 so good for at least a couple months. Another regular right up the street and noticed he was down to ten or so when I went by. Sent him a text and he said to bring him 40. The third close by needs another 30 so I'll be busy in the next few days. Luckily the bundling station is in full all day shade. IMG_7516.JPG

Hey Sandhillbilly We haven't seen any lake pics for some time. Still go camping or taking a hiatus from it?

Anyone selling mini splits for the Solo stoves? I'm going to try it. I don't have much clientele at the moment but will try to move some. Came to be because I had several cutoffs that were around 12". I think I found the right bags to ask $5 for.

I have bundles of ERC listed for solo stove wood. My standard 16" length but will cut in half if customer needs short pieces. No takers yet, but ive cut smoker bundles in half.

Ive tried the mesh drawstring bags and didnt like them. Not strong enough.
