I am calling this done. I’ll only replace what I burn at this point. I’m calling it 45 cords. About 35 in the holzhausens and another 10 stacked at the top of the hill out of sight. IMG_4319.jpeg

462 & 251 got some use today on a dead-standing white oak. I hate to lose a white oak, but there's plenty around and this one was perfect firewood size imo. About 12" at the base and wood was still SOLID for being a dead tree. Nice afternoon session. PXL_20241027_203359711~4.jpg

Anyone have any trees to clean up from all this midwest wind? I have a small ash if I can navigate the fence and ditch to get to it.

Anyone have any trees to clean up from all this midwest wind? I have an ash and another on a fence; its probably elm and will just get thrown into a brush pile.

This tree fell over one of our ATV trails around that time. Left it alone during deer hunting and sawed most of it up yesterday. Four loads in the John Deere Gator. Wife supervised and helped. Good to have someone else when chainsawing in the woods just in case. I see the large panoramic photo I took won't load here so use this link to see the before photo iCloud Photo Sharing

Having an extra set of hands is a blessing; the son in law (visiting) and I restocked the garage stash, finished all the stuff I had laying around in the woodyard (at least it’s off the ground til I can stack it), and bucked up a box elder tree that got snapped in our high winds earlier this year, referenced up-thread.

We’ll split that box elder today.

Also been plenty busy cutting and stacking this year - but too tied up with other things to post about it. Some pics attached.
