I just realized i posted this in the wrong thread. Sposed to go in the chain saw pics thread! Guess i was tired when i posted last night.
LOL, Most everyone that drives by while I'm doing chainsaw gymnastics is looking at me like I'm crazy... I'm thinking there's a lot of folks out there that think anyone doing real, productive manual labor is crazy... You know, that stuff that most everyone did back when I was a kid... Define CRAZY... I guess that has changed over the years as well. I'm happy to be in the loony bin then along with all you crazy wood cutting, wood splitting, wood stacking, and wood burning folks...
Loaded up on some of the best ash I’ve gotten in almost a year. You know it’s good when every round has that fresh cut smell.
My haul this weekend. One 14' dump trailer bed full with just a bit over. Metal sides make a 5 cubic yard volume. The wood sides total 10 cubic yards. The bottom is mostly 22"+/- diameter red oak. I figure just over a cord of oak waiting to be split and stacked. Loaded with biggest rounds over the trailer tandem axles. Trailer is rated at 14k# with 10k# load capacity and it dumped the load easily. I figure I had 8000# of wood in trailer.
Some good solid ash today along with some green cherry. Cutting at my dads farm and couldn't find the tractor key so hand loading it was.
That was an outgoing load CSS July 2022. Just over one since before Christmas. Gotta get me rear end in gear and get more. Black Locust Harvest 2023-24 take the survey
