Pallet forks on a front end loader are a pain, some more than others, but the worst ones are the add-on forks for backhoe/loader buckets...you can't see the forks at all when going into a load! You pretty much have to use a spotter.
Sometimes it's hard to see, I usually tilt the forks way down, to see where they are, slowly curl back and boom down as the tips are going into the pallet.
Depending on the machine forking a pallet without tearing up the pallet can be difficult. Slow and easy has always been my motto. It’s harder to do big damage in turtle mode.
I was hoping to noodle the chunks before it gets hot today, but my oldest son proposed to his gf yesterday, so I’m doing brunch instead.
Even on a skid steer where they sit smack in front of you, the top cross bar, sight line and tip of the 48” forks, block the forks from your view.
The China weight box doesn’t hold enough weight for this log. With the bag of sakrete on top it holds 640lbs. That’s with the tool tubes filled. It’s rated for up to 800, so I guess it would have to be filled with something heavier than sakrete.
Fluid in the tires? would it do better with the forks curled more and the log more against the rack? surprised it struggled with it myself. Or is it longer than I realize?
It’s a big log, but I’m going to get a weight box that’s over 1,000lbs. The china boxes were intended for bx and jd lawn tractors. A grapple that holds it closer to the rack would also make a difference.
That would definitely help. The counterweight we built weighs over 800#, tractor will still get loose in the rear, done a few 3 wheelers pulling stuff out.
Have you done any YouTube vids on replacing those front wheel bearings? Looks like some others might could benefit from it soon...
