Not yet. I’m going to see if weight box is enough first and I have to buy a grapple. Toys before beat juice.
Yeah, grapples are important that’s for sure. Makes tree clean up a breeze. single handed I was able to clean up 4 out of 6 trees this day. Stacking that mess got really easy doing this all alone.
Exactly! I did find that even with my rear tires loaded it was still light in the back end lifting larger stuff. Added a ballast box and instead of filling it with cement I put lead plates in the bottom this left the rest of the box for chains and tools ; this made a huge difference on how it behaves with a load on the front.
Lead, I did the same thing! I set the weight box in a kiddie pool of water and melted/ poured over 800lbs of lead in the bottom.
I had lead bricks ( or plates ) I think they were 6x9x1 inch if I remember correctly , Plywood on bottom , Bricks and then another layer of plywood on top so lead is completely covered. If I ever did want to change anything I still have that option. I also have another few hundred pounds if I need it. If not, it might become bullets?
Going to demo this fork grapple next Also going to drive to Everything Attachments in Conover, so I can see a wicked grapple and other tractor toys.
I have seen this setup but wondered how well it would work for logs compared to a standard grapple. Try it , what have you got to loose? Are you aware of the consequences if you drive to a place like that.
If I drive my daughters HHR the risk is lowered, but maybe the grapple is light enough to haul on the roof.
I can't warm up to that grapple fork design. Probably a cool "C" clamp but how cool is a c clamp for picking things up? Maybe a bypass design would be better? I have a fork attachment and have wondered if it would be worth it to modify it with a clamping arm arrangement. Having the sliding forks would give me options but I'm still not sure.
A Frostbite grapple is in strong contention for a finalist. I like something that scissors down on material.
I missed seeing my yankee gtg bros eatonpcat The Wood Wolverine brenndatomu walt et al this weekend but I’m tractor poor/rich atm. Maybe next year I can afford to cross mason dixon again. Living the dream
