Acres site says one 09 is 36.6cc, one is 37 and the other 41cc. I've found more than one mistake on that site so who knows whats what there.

Best bargain I ever got personally in a saw is a 1986
    266se it's still has it's original seals
I threw a ring in it rebuilt the carb
    4 year's on it now
    It's my truck saw.
As far as modern bargain saws I had a couple of echo 590s that were excellent
I bought two thinking I'd wear one out and use the second
Never happened I traded the nib one for a port job
And my friend needed the other.
    I had a 490 for 4 year's it's a good little saw
But a ms250 is more powerful
I run professional Husqvarna xp saws but would gladly buy a ms250 0r 251 whatever
Instead of the homeowner so called Husqvarna's they sell now.

I believe there are top and read handle versions of the 011. The 012 has both. The top handle version is about the ugliest chain saw ive ever seen.

Ive read so many conflicting stories on this. It was on another site i read about the 45cc 012 top end being put into an 009 and really got me thinking. I can probably get a blown up 009 for cheap, so itd be just the 012 parts if i can find them.

That would definitely rip. My 355t has a 16" and that's plenty bar for that thing. Shorter bar and more cc's would be better.

Nope. My biggest complaint is the easy start feature. Just can’t get used to the motor turning over six days after I pull the rope. It’s too short and underpowered for my taste. Thing only wants to run when it feels like it.
See no reason to use a saw smaller than my 550’s. My spine doesn’t like bending over that much. I noticed a huge sigh of relief moving from the little 250 to the 550.
Now that 510 Dolmar I couldn’t convince you to take home for free,,,,,, still sitting out there ;)

Have at it but I’m betting you’ll be disappointed in the end. I had an 009l that I gave away also had one o10 and ran an 012 and none were very impressive. They ran two different style reeds that aren’t interchangeable because of the case differences. Also ran loose rollers for rod bearings in the couple I had apart. Yes you’d think a 45 cc top handle would have power but I bet the ms 194t I have with a timing advance and muffler mod will outrun one. Another one on paper that should have had some power was the horrible ms 191t. 47cc top handle that had reeds and one of the worst air intake designs I’ve seen.

I’m pretty sure I have an 012 cylinder and piston but I think but I think I was going to give it to eggshooter if i remember correctly after I dig it out for his 011 but not sure it will make a noticeable difference or not.
