Holy cow, that is more than what both my stoves are using altogether presently. You definitely need to get that think more blankets.

We hit the teens up on the hill last night. Good bit of wind too. Stove needed to be bumped up a feed level this morning. :shiver:

Sky is spitting white stuff too, Luckily its just flurries and the sun is peeking through!! 27ºF currently. To me, Fall has said see ya and winta is sneaking up on us already!!

Balmy 18 here presently and we have a nice coating of white on the now frozen ground. Shoulder season was about 2 days long. I fibbed, just checked the outside thermometer, it's up to 20 now.

I'm roasting about 1.5 bags every 24 hours too but the entire house is at 70 (upstairs as well). I need to start mixing in corn, once the garbage cans are empty. Don't want to deal with it when it's this cold because I need to start one of the diesel tractors and take my cans to the barn to mix in the corn and as cold as it is, I'd have a devil of a time firing up one as they aren't plugged in. No electricity in the big barn, besides, neither have block heaters anyway. Diesel fuel in both are treated with Power Service winter additive and Archoil cetane additive and I run 5-40 Rotella T6 synthetic in both of them. In the cars and truck as well. Only time I run the biomass stove in the shop is when I out there and I keep the floor heat at 50 all the time.

Feels like January. it's global warming...lol Kind of like the frigid temps as the kill off over wintering bug larva so I can use less chemicals on my crops and chems have become very expensive like everything else has.

Finally got my RH under control, went to the grocery and bought a number of gallon jugs of distilled and fired up the humidifier. The RH in here is now 50% and it 'feels' much better now. Was down to 35 which is way too low. 50% is about right

Got up this morning at 4 and decided to lite the small Whitfield in the living room to get the shack a tad warmer.

Only ran the big stove last night.

After a bit I went out to get more coffee...Stove was out...cold....still cycling the auger.....Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    Hopper full..
    Checked the auger motor fuse...OK
Took the back off the stove.....
    AUGER JAMMED HARD.......
Cleaned out the hopper to check for a stick in the auger at the inlet....OK
Loosened the auger set screw on the auger drive collar.

Removed motor..... Turned on the power and set the auger on PRIME
    Motor ran fine.....

    Auger loose now. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM ?????????????

Cleared the fire pot.....Rotated the auger many times....Fire pot full of shells......
    Emptied the auger completely......

Removed the fire pot and dumped it into a bucket.......

    PLUNK......OH MY....Should not hear a PLUNK NOISE

Sorted through the handful of shells.

    ARRRRRRGH
Found a #2 Phillips hex bit in the bucket......

Little tool had likely found its way up to the upper reaches of the auger and then finally got stuck in the drop tube opening......Rocking the auger dislodged the drive bit and it fell out.....

I had a new auger motor....IT WOULD NOT RUN

After helping the armature a few times by hand....it took off.....Still pretty weak

Decided to put the old one back on.....IT IS RUNNING FINE....STOVE is feeding well......

I am going to order some heavy duty auger motors for spares.....

Can't be 100% sure...but my bet is I own this FUBAR.......Either the tool fell in during a booster fan chamber cleaning...

OR the tool was left on one of the barrel lids in the basement and fell into the shells and was not seen....

    Ah well....

Don't ever use virtual machines if you plan on updating your software frequently you'll go bonkers with your passwords and I haven't hit the big jump yet.
