We have started on the sides and back yard part of our logging job. A walk through of some to be done. Right side yard. A few trees here to drop Some tall red oaks Got to remember the transformer hiding in the azaleas A serious leaning water oak A nice sweet gum with healthy PO vines Right side and house. Video starts is the corner and goes behind house
He wanted us to start on the left side, those were shading the pool area in the afternoon and were closer to the house. 1st tree we cut on that side Then we started dropping some oaks The bigger oak just behind it didn't go quite far enough to the left, got hung up on the 2 oaks the small one brushed against going down. We were able to cut the big oak in 6' and 7.5' sections to get it small enough for the tractor to pull it down The 2 stumps Couple logs off the first oak A baby aspirin and sweat can make something look way worse than it is...GRAPHIC PIC... Small limb scraped my arm as I was trimming... How it looks now...lol Wednesday morning we loaded what we had cut Tuesday afternoon Spent the rest of the morning cleaning up the 2 oak tops and getting ready to take this leaning red oak down. Got the tractor and cable set up A little wedge pounding, a little HP and a lot of prayer... 'Bota is happy moving logs 2nd load Wednesday evening
TJV. WOW. I always scan your threads and then have to come back and read them threw again. Impressive my friend keep safe and happy
Kinda both. We cut the pine for his neighbor, who has a bandsaw mill. The sweet gum over 10" dia we cut 11-12' long, local mill takes them for cross ties. We have taken them 1 load from the front yard. Probably have another load on the part of the job Hope they will take the small gum for the chipper, if a friend doesn't want them for erosion control. We are taking all the oak, hickory, maple and beech to our firewood yard The Kubota is a 30 HP L3130, '06 model. Got it converted to QA and grapple last year.
Thanks. Even found a good use for some of the sweet gum we first brought home... Skid poles for the good wood.
All that i see is a RED BLOODED AMERICAN MALE, hard working, relying on Prayer to do the RIGHT THING AT THE RIGHT TIME. Like the little woman said, ''thank you Jesus"!! Way to go jeff! and wife!!
