Still have 10 more 372xps to figure out what's wrong with them. 4 backpack leaf blowers, an 028 I bought to restore for a neighbor (needs new spur sprocket, inner plate shield, chain catch, new bar and chain, new air filter, new plug) , and an 029 I'm keeping for myself that I haven't looked at hard yet.
Serviced these stihls for a friend A 290 and 310 I put a new .325 sprocket and chain on the 290 And 3/8 on the 310 and new bar and chain. And cleaned and tuned them He bought me one of these for my trouble Handy little saw I ordered another for my friend after he tried it for a utv saw.
91 year old neighbor dropped off a 170 Said it wouldn't run He'd put bar oil in the gas tank And gas in the oil tank Easy fix I dropped it off on his atv.
A 575/576 fullwrap is easy to fit to a 266/268/272 The 365/372 wraps are easy to fit also but you have to drill a new bottom fastener hole. You just have to bend the down tube towards the saw And grind off some of it's thickness So the clutch cover will fit over the bar. All existing fastener holes line up great No need to drill any new holes. I had to cut a piece off a am 272 top cover to fix my broken 266 cover.
I don't have fullwraps on all my saws of course just a few of my falling saws this is my heavily used truck saw I use it more than any of my saws This is before I ground the thickness of the down tube down For clutch cover clearance. Some kid wanted 200.00 for a beat up oem 266 fullwrap that's crazy. I have a few oem wraps But I actually prefer these oem 365/272 575/576 30/40.00 wraps.
No pictures but, presently on my bench (reloading) are another 1000 .223 cases being prepped for reloading. Never have enough, I say.
Far as sealer goes, I've gotten away from the box store stuff and went to Kubota 3 bond sealer, it's good stuff but only available at a Kubota tractor dealer. That and Detroit Diesel Anaerobic sealer.
Mostly off the bench. Been flicking around with the oiler. Finally found the suction side of the pump was packed with tank chit. Cleaned it up and it oils great. still need to move the brake to a new clutch cover and deal with a wonky pull start. Carb clean and kit New piston and ring Transfer removed from cylinder Plug wire Crank seals Clutch, drum and bearing Lots of cleaning. Got about $140 into it, including original purchase price
