So, back to filling that hole under the bench... What are you thinking? I'd say put the 500i on your short list. Maybe a 400 as well. Get rid of that lone jack stand and you'll def have room for 4 more...

500i is tops on the list. After running a ported one at huskihl 's last year I don’t think I'd even use it. Just ship it to him for porting. A tweaked 7910 Dolly is another one.

I don't see why having room for 2 saws is a problem.

Now, if 3 saws dropped into your lap, with room for only 2, that's a problem. Albeit, a good problem to have.

There's a couple empty spots for "new" saws??? This said without viewing other replies.

I like the grinding set up. Well done and thought out.

EDIT: after reading entire thread id say 400 & 500i. Has Kevin ported a 400 yet?

I haven’t. But it’s basically a 362 with a bigger cylinder, so it shouldn’t be difficult to figure out

Just think buZZsaw BRAD, you could have the world’s first fully ported XS400.

…inside “other forum” joke. That probably isn’t nearly as funny here as it is on OPE

Nice setup and saws. Yep, a XS500i would look good under there. Get ya a XS 2511T Echo as well...

How does the porting and MM affect the Mtronics Kevin? Do you have to do anything to that or does it self adjust?

On most models, nothing needs done. The M Tronic compensates without any hitches or resets. Only the MS 261 was borderline on having the ability to put out enough extra fuel. I actually found a jet inside the carburetor that needed to be drilled larger. Within a year, stihl was on to the version 3 mtronic and they had done the same thing with the carburetor So I believe that all models are fine now

Good plan Jeff, hey Kevin go buy a 500i and port it for me, I'll pick it up in 2027 when you're a bit more caught up.

I have both the 400 c and 500i….. stock though. They both run great so I can’t see modding them. I have an 880 if I need to shred big logs.
