USC makes a dandy fresh air kit, I have 2 and not that expensive either. Bought the last one on Fley Bay for 20 bucks, shipping included. Outside screened cover, inside wall plate, even come with expandable hoses and worm clamps.

Too much tire for the Wife's van. I run 33 x10.50's All Terrain TA KD/KO's on m y 4 wd truck that never goes out in the winter.

Too much for van for sure.

But last winter came home from work during a 30" storm. Plow berm at bottom of driveway was 2ft tall and at least 3 ft wide from heavy snow being plowed all day. Put the truck in 4WD high and I am pretty sure it chuckled as it went through that plow berm like a hot knife thru butter then up the hill/driveway with about 15-18 inches of sn*ow and into the garage.

Sucking the corn-pellet mix down big time presently. House is at 72/50% RH. Just right for this old couple.

Cleaned it today. Been cleaning it on Sunday and mid week. Corn makes a huge amount of ash. Dumping the cleanout at the same time as well. Dog is happy, sprawled in front of the stove with 2 cats. Gravel drive is starting to get that every winter ashpan look. Gotta go down the road with a tractor and forks on Saturday and fetch yet another ton of corn. Life is good. Supposed to be in the 50's here Saturday. Have 6 ton in the storage building next to the seed house being stored for me.

I'm roasting about 60 pounds of corn and an equal amount of pellets, every 24 hours presently, or about 350 bucks of corn and a bag and a half of pellets. Expensive little bugger, glad it's free (corn). I'll be doubling that once I get the shop stove up and running.

Thanks corncob, I'm all set on OAK, it draws from a windbreak/"enclosed" porch so no danger of snow drifts blocking it. Unfortunately my stove's problem is not the oak (like I hoped last night, that would have been an easy fix). The setup has been installed and running 24/7/360 since 2014, the face plate is vented with screen. I might order a new hose but going to see if I can just cut off the insulation sleeve on this one (it was not cheap, OEM), my stove uses a 3" oak and that ducting tube is curiously hard to find right now. I wanted to add we ran that exact tire for decades, except I preferred the 31.5's on my rig and appreciated it being a bit lower for me to get in and out of. We're both in pickups now that require E rated or I'd still have them.

For tires, I only read the reviews on tirerack. I don't worry about noise either, I can turn my radio volume up :). I am also less concerned about MPG (it's nice, but not a must have). I'm only concerned with performance in weather; rain, snow, ice.

Got my delivery today. $500+. But I just run it once in the morning, bring the temp up, then run the stove for the day.

Hours hours on this stove the past few days, process of elimination and component diagnostic tests, triplicate cleanings back to back to back and on the phone with tech support, we *might* have an answer for it erroring out and burning so darn hot I have to use a kitchen hot pad to lift the hopper lid to refill. Last thing tech support mentioned as all 3 of us were pretty much throwing in the towel - was pellets. He said size matters, I went over and looked in the hopper and sure enough, the majority are 1/4" up to 1/2", that those little crumbs are feeding much faster compared to the longer ones many of us know. The other part of the discussion was overheating and he assured there are many automatic safety mechanisms in place to either slow the feed down or off completely before an emergency.

So, we'll burn through the tons we have and maybe next load of pellets will not be so short and crumbly, I just wish the lowest feed had more convection speeds .

Cash Larue , how long on are your Heartlands this year?

And thank you for your time and thoughts SmokeyTheBear :) :handshake:

That is a possibility. Most of the pellets I get are fairly small so I usually leave my feed setting on 3, and for hot burning pellets (pure softies) have even gone down to 2. Longer pellets, I may turn up to 4. It sounds scary that the hopper lid will get that hot, although in the scheme of things, what burns our fragile skin (~120*) doesn't do a dang thing to wood pellets (~600*). Sux that your fan speed can't go higher at the lower feed settings

Asking if you have a trim setting to reduce the feed rate. Another fix could be a slide that can be adjusted over the auger tube.

No, not the first time, we've burned this brand since 2015. Edit Pete, this is shortest I've seen these pellets in this brand.

Hi WW! Sorry you are having this issue! That’s weird. My heartlands are averaging 1/2 - 3/4 inch. Are you burning heartlands this year?
