OMG, how long did it take to assemble that many random, disjointed words and ruminations into something insightful ?
Sorry, didn't realize you have to be an English major to post on FHC...feel free to ignore my posts if they are that painful. Edit: Honestly not 100% sure how to take this comment...if I took it wrong, sorry.
I thought about it...even had them in my sweaty paws...then my better cheaper judgement kicked in... Could still add some metal in there...might hafta consider that again...
Ahhh wood shed build posts on FHC. These are the best! Yes, I read it all. I like that you're making it look like it's a "temporary" building so it doesn't get taxed. I had to do the same at mine, despite that tidbit making it more cost to me. That's a lot of lumber that you collected, and those crates are awesome for free lumber.
You aren't just whistling Dixie there! Yeah I had it figured out that during the height of the pandemic lumber prices I was "making" about $100/hr pulling nails!
Are you saying that its overbuilt? I do have that tendency... Hmm...a second story, huh? Maybe a 2022 project! Thank ya sir!
Nothing wrong with multi purpose structures. Looks like a great spot to put a lawn chair, or a second story.
Exactly what my wife did the other day...I asked her what was wrong with the other 1.799 acres of the place?!
My preowned roofing has screws holes at about 25-26"...I really wanted to reuse the existing holes, but thought there needed to be purlins more than every 25-26"...so I went every 12-13" or so...plenty sturdy enough to walk on once the roof is down...I was a little surprised how much nailing these down stiffened things up...and speaking of nails, even the nails were "preowned" for this part of the project...seems like about 1/2 of the nails come out fairly straight when I demo the crates that this lumber came from...I have enough ring shank nails to fill a 5 gallon bucket! (not kidding!)
Making good progress BTU! Yeah the sheathing or strapping really stiffens things up and ties it together. Dont blame you on the nails. When i take stuff apart like that i do the same. Go buy a 1lb box of 8d nails and youll see what i mean. Silicone or any acrylic latex caulk with silicone will seal any holes up okay. Polyurethane caulk is great too. Just make sure its clean before you seal.
My question is, did you use talk to text for any of it or was it all keyboard? Looks good from where I'm sitting.
