I had initially intended to set it up that way, but with just a little repositioning I can enjoy the fan as well as getting rid of the exhaust.

As it is now, the fan won't blow on me. Which is fine with me.

So, I started the day building this..

    20210919_150004.jpg

But that only allowed for 58" of height.
    (194" x 58" x 31.5")

A third pallet wasn't really an option, as duals they're heavy enough manhandling alone, a third would be way too much.

So.. I tore it all apart and started over.

    This is the final result..

    20210919_184431.jpg

    177" x 94" x 31.5"

This will allow me to stack 2.5 cord of wood in there, and it's quite solid.

Not intending to load it to the top, I also intend another center brace tying the top rails to the 4x6 post.

I can add additional bracing on the bottom sections.

I need to purchase some 16 ft 2x4's to make a second rack, I can also add a third top rail if necessary.

    Thanks for the input.

That building has so much untapped potential...I'd love to have that!
I'm stuck with an old 18x28' concrete block building that has the overhead door in the 28' side...so it's not deep enough to pull anything much longer than a Bronco II :hair:...getting ready to add on to it...should have done it years ago before the prices went koo-koo though!

Hey guys, I actually am quite happy with how things turned out, and I think it'll make a great prototype for the outside racks.

I think that it would be good to add a plywood "scab" on the internal meeting joint. It would add a fair bit of strength to any bowing outwards.

There is already outside wood tying the pallets together, as seen previously, but some plywood on the inside would add substantial strength at the joint.

Keep in mind, there will be 2 of these, connected across the top for additional stability.

    Thoughts?

Thanks, it's been many years in the making, as I'm sure most here can appreciate.

Kinda hurt the savings, as well as some financing to get it to this point, and it's still not complete.

Plywood on the inside won’t do much. I would remove the short scabs I have circled and replace them with full length 2x6 that go from the floor to the trusses on each side of the pallets. And screw the chit out of it
