Cleaning the yard up this morning I hear chainsaw and chipper. And the moth has to go to the flame. Scored 2 loads of beech and 1 of maple. Tree service even helped load it. Not big loads just what I could get in the back of my Suburban. ironically the street it was on was named Beech.[
That's a thing of beauty. I love beech, whether it's admiring a healthy living tree or watching it throw flames in my stove. It's one of those overlooked species that unless you've burned it before, you wouldn't really go out of your way looking for it. Nice haul
In laws have beech behind the house. Love it when one blows down. I still have 3 sections of trunk back there from the last one that I need to get. Must not have been far from the house if you heard the equipment. Nice score!
Awesome score. Nice clean rounds too and a bonus that they helped load! Whenever I hear a chipper or saws going I follow the sound and investigate as well. Looks like we have similar splitters I have the 35 ton yardmax half beam.
I'm looking forward to someday burning the beech I got last year...I've had a little in the past, but not enough to really get a good feel for it...I probably have a cord or so now...
Nice score! I’ve never even seen a beech tree, that I’m aware of. I scored a nice load of Ash the same way over the summer. Love it when that happens!
Good for you Ohio dave , Beech is very common here and I like burning it. I have 18 or 20 trees on my land that are small to medium size in the woods. I'll be long gone before they are cutting size.
We have a few beech here but they are all too small. The last one we had of any size was humongous! It finally gave up the ghost many moons ago. I miss that old tree.
Never cut/burned any beech but on an easy score! Win win as you save them the work of taking it elsewhere or chipping it up.
