Installed the overhead door that I found on c/l. Next I'll trim it unless I decide to paint it first.
As much as I love/hate painting Just couldn't trim out the door before it had paint on what would be not accessible trimmed.
That shed is probably meth making gone wrong explosion proof. And I thought my wood shed was being overbuilt... That looks amazing! How did you do the clear roof into the steel at the bottom of that panel? I would love to make a greenhouse with a roof like that to replace the crappy shed I have on the other side of my garden.
That's a fairly new polycarbonate panel that's as clear as can be. It's a little "fuzzy" optically I think just due to it being formed to the profile of the metal. It's a long way from the old fiberglass panels. If you call around, I think "polycarbonate" is the keyword to include in your inquiry.
I just snapped this for you. I used it on the back side. It sticks out like a sore thumb and that side is away from my drive.
Yeah that would be awesome for a greenhouse roof. That should shed a lot of light in your situation, provided it's daytime.
Built the windows that are not windows to allow airflow for the generator. It's crude but works well and they'll only be opened when the generator is operating. I just drilled a 1 1/4" hole through the jamb and stud, pushed through a pc. of emt and clamped in to the back of the wood. Started painting the trim (corners, window and door trim and eventually soffits and fascia) the walls will get a little lighter color. Not sure what I'll get to paint wise before cold.
Painting I run a orbital sander across anything getting paint. Not real fun but some of it is heavily textured or sorta "fuzzy". It uses the heck out of paint and holds dirt, spider webs, etc. A light sanding helps with that.
This little building is the first thing you see coming down the driveway and before the house. Believe me, it's downhill from there.

It matches the shop- house. I was matching the colors of the metal siding. Just walking in the paint place is intimidating. There (literally) 2 million choices are an impossible decision, and with 2 or more colors..... each color changes the other. I'll never forget that at our last place there was an existing red "barn metal" garage & shed. It had white corners and fascia. I changed the white to what was commonly known 20 years ago among the siding manufacturers as "clay beige" to match the house. I was amazed how many things changed on that building by only changing the corners- fascia.
Really nice job on the gen building fuelrod ... looks like you'll have plenty of cooling airflow in there too... ...
We did the same sanding when staining the trim boards on our house, as they also came off a bandsaw mill. I think it takes the paint/stain better than a planed (semi polished) surface does.
