    Me neither.

Dang cool weather keeps coming back. Haven't fired the stove in a while. But if it gets any milder? We just might! 62*F this AM.

LOL, mine is still sitting and waiting to be cleaned. I could have ( and should have) fired it up Friday evening. Heck, I waited till last weekend to feel ok about putting away the snow blower

Tore the stove apart this morning and cleaned everything. Vent and OAK are capped and damp rid in the hopper and ash pan. I'll start buying a ton a month till November
Summer will be over before it starts, and back to burning.

I've been trying to convince my employer to buy one of those leaf blowers to do quick sweeps on top of our service calls. Was only going to charge an extra $50 on top of our expensive service calls and it would be quick money, not to mention save them the $189 all the sweeps charge around here. I just can't wrap her head around it... yet. We've been doing installs lately and I've been racking in at the least an extra $2500 a week so I think she's almost ready to listen lol...

I may just buy it myself and send her a bill haha

    Hello

The adapter I made in the previous post is great for 4" Pellet Pipe and DT Pipe because it just slides right in and is a snug fit! ! !

To do my shed stove that has 3" pellet pipe, I built a reducer with a 3" Adjustable 12" long pellet pipe.
The reducer has 4" PVC that slides on the adapter above and after you remove the 3" Termination cap, it slides on the 3" pipe so you can blast away! ! !

See pics below, click to Enlarge!

P.S. Do you like the Strip Soffit Vent which vents to a Ridge Vent above the LVL in my shed?
You can see the strip vent clearly with my built in L.E.D warm white rope lights. :)

No pics, but finally bit the bullet and deep cleaned the stove and pipes.

For the first time, I tried Brillo pads on the interior after brushing. Man did those things clean all the metals like nothing short of a sand blaster or a powered grinder with scrub attachment. It took about 2.5 hours, capped the exhaust vent, plugged 6 different areas with rags and put 3 tubs of damp rid-a bit excessive, but its the same regiment as last year which resulted in my first year of no internal rust. And yes, this is a note in the hopper on where all the rags are ;)

All tucked in and it's nap time for the beast until Fall.

Dex- now that the season is over, how did you like the Selkirk DT venting? You did an up and out setup if I remember correctly right?

    Hello MePellet

We luv our Selkirk DT. On the basement stove, I installed the DT masonry conversion kit so the Selkirk DT can pull the fresh air down the chimney thru the special top around the liner. In the garage we have the DT Up & Out kit. It keeps the ash in the burn pot dry as a bone even on the dampest days. So no caked ash in the burnpot.

I also installed it for 3 customers and it works very well for them too.

    How bout you Dex?

I love it.. Easy to clean, went together well, and it looks very good as well.

I would highly recommend the ST product to anyone. The only downfall that I see to it, is the last foot or two (near termination) gets a lot more build up than other brands of venting. Due to the warm exhaust air, meeting the incoming cold air, the ash is a little thicker and darker. But after that foot or so, it looks good.

    Hi Dexter
What size straight pipe did you use to go thru the outside wall? I used a 2 footer and then put a 45 Deg to keep the smoke from blowing in the windows on a real windy day.

I like the 45° idea Don. I used a 2 footer as well (Bought it from you ;)) In a severe storm last Winter, the stove went into shut down mode, because the air blowing straight into the pupe, was enough to trip the vacuum.

Do I have to use DT for the 45°. I thought I read that regular Selkirk will connect onto the end piece that the cone (termination cap) hooks to?
