Coincident to my pastrami making, a local grocery chain put packers on sale for $2.99/lb. Or about $2.15 in USD. So I bought a 12 pounder and a 17. The smaller one I will put on the smoker for Father's Day. The bigger one I will turn the point into more pastrami. The flat I think will be used mainly for ground beef. Brisket burgers can't be half bad right?
That’s a good price.... I kick myself in the butt for not buying two or three briskets at $2.99 a pound just before the shortage hit. The local grocery store had a meat sell....... the last week they were up to $5.99/lb
i think the high end restaurants mix it with ground ribeye....chuck prolly work for blue collar folk like me.
