Bad news is..... the left side is still stuck, I cracked a piece off the head of the stud and also sheared off the socket I borrowed! :headbang::mad:

Yeah x2! One of which I don’t get to keep. I’m at a point of welding a bolt on to this thing and cranking it out. I’ll have to do some machine work to refit it once I’m done, but I’ve got the other side for a pattern at least.

You mean weld a nut on it and then grind the grooves back in it? I bet that will work...

Yep! Hope between the weld heat and being able to have something for a socket to bite we’ll get her!

When welding a nut onto a broken off bolt or stud, I usually just plug weld the center of the nut...you could weld a pretty big nut on that pin...then use a big wrench with lots of leverage on it...I'd be shocked if you couldn't back it right out then...

If you have a good air chisel, stick a bit in the slot & rattle the hell out of it before you heat it. Helps more than you think.

Well I done did it..... blasted it with the air chisel then tried welding on a big nut. Snapped it off. Couldn’t get a good shot at it with the welder. So I ground it up nice and took a 5/8 bolt and tapered the end so I could get a good fill on the weld. 5AF38F7A-6AF8-401E-9810-D584CAB56BB9.jpeg Managed to burn my arm through my shirt but got it stuck good! The 3/4” drive breaker bar with a pipe on the handle and broke it free. Switched to the 3/4” ratchet with the pipe and was able to make two clicks per pull:faint:. Three full rotations later it was moving free enough to throw the impact gun on. 46DCCF5A-4401-4828-959C-3574C2213BED.jpeg So it’s out, but I think I’m going to be hunting a replacement or doing some machine work.

It’s been sitting at the same place I left off. Way to many other priorities and projects. Although the weather is changing and I want to get it done before winter. Stay tuned....

Had to make some little retainer tools and ended up chiseling our all the discs once I got the clutch on the bench.

2287820C-32B6-4DAE-884E-5D52964FC215.jpeg Disassembled the clutch including the 1500 lb spring! :eek:Gently with the help of my floor jack and a tractor drawbar.
The other clutch is free and ready to lift. Still need to disassemble the brakes. Unfortunately I ran out of gas for the day.

    Right side clutch out. AE31E87D-9D4B-41AC-8842-2F023A0E7A90.jpeg

Somewhat of a fight getting the brakes out, but a big hammer, choice words and the torch took care of it.
