the durability is what i look for in my grinds as well i have alot of chains sent to others and ill let a little speed go to achieve durability and in my videos im usually cutting oak or some other hardwood
Agree Dall. Especially when you’re sending to someone... I have looked at teeth with a magnifying glass after frozen oak. They’re pretty rough if the angles are too shallow.
I’m good Dallas. How are you? I zeroed it out above the bolt for the swing arm. Figured that would be the best and closest area to measure at relative to the wheel, or should I measure zero on the wheel itself? Top plate dresser is at 28.7 degrees relative to the top of the grinder. The side plate is at 22.7 degrees.
Awesome. The top plate ended up at exactly 20 degrees with this set up. I’ll get a chain ground this weekend or something.
the less than stock top angle helps durability there was a video on youtube showing results of the different angles ill look to see if i can find it
This is a fresh one that hasn’t been ground on before. Looks pretty good to me. it takes a decent amount off the cutter to get the top plate that shallow.
