32 bottles pasteurized... the rest went into my beer fridge. Pasteurization went smoothly.... pretty much resembles the process of canning veggies. Really was a simple process... so hopefully in about a week I’ll get to try my fruits of my labor...
Primed and bottled 16 sixteen ouncers today that has been racked for 3 months....tasted great!!! they will get labels after they carbonate
Bottling the stuff from above post [jan] some in plastic and some in flip tops....the flip tops will get pasteurized
I been having trouble with carbonation in my glass swing top bottles 16oz....I came across a good video put out by Portland state university....its not a how to vid, more of a walk thru of a small cidery.the brewmaster guy didn't get into times or temps for pastureizing but did mention that they use crown caps on the swing tops because the silicone seals leak during the heating process(I thought this was my problem all along)so they pasteurize with crown caps and ship with the flip top in the unlatched position. I have a bottle capper but it doesn't work on longnecks as they are different so I bought this multi size capper made in Italy...looks pretty well built.....give it a go next time I bottle.
