My thought was he could have been sold .43 low pro which could cause circle cutting in .50 bar. Just guessing like everyone else.
Would the size difference be noticeable to a newb? The old and new chains look very similar to me. One's the original Husky, and the newer one is an Oregon.
The 3/8's cutter should be obviously taller than the .325. If its not then its lp and gauge could be the problem.
Man this has been beat to death.....here's my idea, throw that 20" bar and chain in the corner and put the 18" back on if it's cutttin good. Then get busy
Yep the sprocket tip for 3/8 has longer teeth than 3/8 lowpro. Mastermech did a comparison somewhere on here a month or two back.
Papa have you looked at the bar and chain and identified what you have yet? Pics of both bars or what they say on them for chair size and pics of chains? If you can't get them to post like you said you can pm me and I will give you my email and I will post them for you.
They both look the same pitch to me??? I see one is a 72dl and one 80dl??? A 3/8 20" chain is 72...but a 18" .325 is also 72dl??
These are both 20". Yeah, weird that the Oregon is marked 80, but I counted and it's 72....same as the Husky They look the same except the rakers. ? ETA: Sorry, the Husky is the one marked 80.
