I cut two sweetgums back in the early spring; one was fairly large. I was surprised at how much wood came out of the two trees. The stack in US measurements came to 3'4" x 4'4" x 3'8". Of course that is crossed stack. Cross stacking takes more time but I don't have any real storage areas yet; so I put down a pallet and stack on it. On top of the sweetgum I stacked some poplar that I think will be ready to burn shortly.

    Nice work!

But, US measurements would be 40" x 52"x 44".

I need to get to doing some splitting and stacking myself.

I'm great with feet and inches anyway they are used. Still on the struggle bus with the metric conversion! :hair: Nice work Kimberly!

Cooler temps are on the way Horkn . That makes for better splitting weather IMO. A little wet and nasty today though. No complaints, we can use the rain.

It was nice outside yesterday, you could work without sweating but you didn't need coats. It would have been a nice day to have gone hiking but I had work to do.

When we talk about a cord, we say 4'x4'x8' so I used feet and inches because it gives a clear image of how close that was to a cord of wood; of course it is cross stacked and not stacked as tight as if you are just stacking the wood parallel to each other.
