I'm starting a thread about John Deere chainsaws... There was a long history of Deere and Co. marketing saws at their dealerships. These saws were manufactured by various saw makers from Remmington to Homelite, to Efco... Feel free to post pics of random Deere saws, their manufacturer, and specs if you can!
Back in the '80's & early '90's,Echo made them for a while.I have a 22 yr old heavy duty JD weed trimmer made by Echo.Still runs like a top.Can sometimes take 5-6 pulls to get going after sitting empty for months, but it was like that when it was new.
Sure. I have owners manual in garage, trimmer is in shed out back but its dark now.If I get a few minutes tomorrow I'll post a pic. Model is 260G,bought new in spring '91.
I have a Remington SL9 which was a Deere saw at one time as well. Maybe I'll paint it green! And I always have my eyes peeled for a 66SV (The yellow equivalent to the 610EVL, twin cylinder).
Don't own one, but if I ever got ahold of a 66 or 610? I'd be holding onto it TIGHT!! Nice thread Hedge!
Mech is correct... I can find ya a 610 or 2 for $$ But good luck prying the Deere versions out of their owners' hands!!! Maybe some day??!!
I just had a CS40 roll through my shop for fuel lines... Should have got a pic of it, but I failed... It was an Efco in green.. I really like the Efco made deeres..
They were decent saws but they unfortunately sat on the shelves of our store next to the likes of Stihl and Husqvarna.
Yup... They were well built and sturdy... But nothing set them apart from the rest, and nobody pushed the brand on a national level... At least Dolmar made "out of the box" hotrods...
A dolmar in blue IS extremely sexy.... OOOPS!!! Did I accidentally slip a Dolkita pic into the JD thread??!
