So I scored a wicked nice Husky 545 (thanks Dex). I thought I had done my due dilligence in researching the correct bar and chains but just want to double check.

The saw has the .325 sprocket so I purchased an Oregon Power Match Plus bar (0.050/1.3 .325 66) that came with two Husky chains marked H30. I believe this is the narrow kerf bar and appropriate "Pixel" chains? I also bought two Oregon chains 33SL 066X. They are stamped "33" on them.
Are these simply the regular kerf chain and are they okay for my bar?

I also bought a 20" Husky bar with number "SN A 20/50 058/1.5" and the chains aren't stamped with anything other than "Sabre". The packages say ".325 .050 78DL". Here is where I think I screwed up. I think the bar is .058 and the chains are .050. A measurement with a calipers on the bar slot and chain guide seems to confirm.

So post the Husky bar and keep the Sabre chains or vice versa?

Sorry in advance for the newbie questions.....I thought I had this all figured out when I purchased but just being sure here.

Okay...so the seller (ebay) responded quickly and is very cool. He will replace either the bar or the chains so everything matches....my choice. He said if I choose the chains he'll throw in a couple of extras.

I can't find much about these Sabre chains. I don't reckon it'll make much difference as I'll use the 16" bar mostly anyway.

Could I get worse chains if I chose the chain replacement option? LOL

If it was me, I'd get another .50 gauge bar just to keep everything the same. I hate having a bunch of different gauge chain around. Sabre chain used to be ok but it's been a few years.

Meh...it's no biggie to me. I opted for the chain swap and he made it seven chains instead of four AND he said to just keep the others. So now I do have the option of either...I'm just not keeping both or I'll screw up. I don't care if my 16" are .050 and my 20" are .058 though. He is a good seller and made it right.

Now if you want a faster cut & are cutting clean wood,
get a full chisel. Stihl RS or Oregon LPX

I haven't been hiding in the shadows. . Me and the OP have been texting. As for different gauge on the bar? It isn't a different size cutter, so the sharpening will be the same whether it's .050 or .058.

I told him I would go with the chains. This will eliminate any is of Stihl RS, but LGX makes a good chain and quite frankly, other than the chains that came on my 441 and 460? I have not bought an RS since. I run almost all LGX. With a couple irregular chains (Forester and Woodland Pro).

Because he has yet to put up a pic. Here is one for your viewing pleasure.

Does LGX come in .325 ?
    Found LPX but not LGX.
Not a bid difference, unless you use the tip of the bar &/or bore cut. a safety hump on the LPX drive link.,
Stihl has RS in about any size

Congrats on the sweet saw :)
Saw looks ready to pounce !
Is that a 16 inch bar ? The 16 inch bar seems to balance the 545 and 550 just perfectly !! As for the .050 and .058 stuff...Its no biggie . They are different size bars that take different size chains...so it really doesnt mean anything to "swap" them anyway .. I keep all my stuff at .050 just so I sleep better at night . But I have my own issues.and dont have the time or energy to get into them !!

Yep 16" bar. It'll see most of the work around here I reckon. The 20" bar and chain thing ended up coming out pretty decent with the seller being such a straight shooter. I ended up with 11 new 20" chains and a new 20" Husky bar for $81. Of course, 4 of those chains are destined for relocation.

I hear ya . I actually use my Dolmar with 14 inch bar 95% of the time for the stuff I get into ! I have some saws with 16 inch bars for the "bigger" stuff . I save anything bigger than that for fellas with good back hinges :) Enjoy that 545..but I dont need to tell you that !
