AWF are better than a middle of the road pellet for me. I actually like them. Had some that were super long 3 yrs ago (2"-3") but have never seen any long ones since. Also, AWF sent me a Gift card after sending them an email with description and pics of the pellets. Good pellet in my opinion.
I burned maybe half a ton of these this year. They are an excellent pellet. Both times I got a great burn and better ash than average. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.
Excellent pellet for the money. Best I have tried this season. Heat is better than SC-PTL's and cleaner too. Course, Now I can't get any as TSC has restocked with MWP in the TSC bags.
Gonna check this weekend. Last I knew(2 wks ago) They only had GS and over priced GT's. Stopped at TSC tonight only to find Instant heat and Dexter's favorite Easy Heat.
Lowes is selling Premium Wood Pellets? I thought that was a HD thing. Anyway, picked up 10 bags of the Premium Wood Pellets (AWF) from HD today. Paid $3.76 a bag with the veterans discount. Got a bag in the hopper now. First impressions, they look very similar to FSU's. But there were quite a few fines in the bottom of the bag. Hard to tell on the heat as it's fairly warm out and it's just plain hard to do with a Harman. Ash doesn't look to bad, but I haven't burned much of the bag yet.
Yeah, our bottom feeders dont care about fines. I'm using pellets that have quite a bit this year...dont care. Even the fines collect box isnt filling up much at all, so the stove is just burning them. If those AWF burn well this week when the cold really comes back starting Tuesday, that will be great
I'm really liking these pellets! Burn great with good heat and low ash. 0 this morning and 70 inside, feed rate 3.5 out of 7, blower on max. What the hell did I buy 10 bags of La Crete for? These can handle anything.
Still burning the AWF's. 5 outside with a 13 mph wind. 71 and rising inside. Heat level 4. Just turned it down a bit to around 3.8. Supposed to go to -5 tonight so I fired up the PDVC in the basement. Burning FSU's on heat level 1 to protect the pipes.
I'm betting you'll like them. I'm trying to figure out how out I can get 3 or 4 tons in the basement for next year.
