Had a turkey fired up and close enough I could hear his wings flap when he gobbled...then he split. No idea why. Never did see him and I'm sure he didn't see me. Frustrating. #redneckproblems
I hauled, and cut a load of wood with the ATV at my cutting buddy's house. We also pulled out nuisance trees, box elder, in the edge of his lawn. We used a pallet tongs and the ATV to pull them. Then we went over to my land and cut a few logs. I hauled some sugar maple, and ironwood logs in 4' lengths. My buddy used his 460 and cut up most of the basswood that uprooted. There's a nice dead shag, a leaner cherry, and a crooked sugar maple that was nailed by lightning about 15-20 years back that somehow kept growing, all jankety. Up the way it's a dead elm that fell into the farmers field that he pushed into my woods. So I'll get all that. Eventually.. No pics today, but also no morels yet. My wife took my buddy's 13 yr old daughter in to town to shop. So we all had fun, even though my wife hates shopping. She likes spending time with my buddy's daughter though.
My lil one visits her Grandma a couple times a year, she takes her shopping, woo hoo!! I send a check, they have a BLAST, and lil one comes home with goodies and clothes
Day off today and plenty to do around the house while the wife works. Including watching the three youngins. Wish me luck!
Caffeine going down, finally. We are keeping a close eye on the youngest, so wife went to work and I'm on duty. She is still sleeping and since getting to the hospital yesterday has been her usual, nice, cute, adorable self. These kids have a way of getting to ya. Don't they? So I'm doing some strength training while she sleeps.
Well tomorrow is the wife's Birthday and tonight is best night to celebrate it. So today the kids were off from school and we went and got her a few presents, and cake and some cannolies. Then when we got back I made a whole crock pot full of scalloped potatoes and ham! Her parents and mine coming over for dinner.
Today on the way to the mountain to run the Hounds around, I came across a pile of rounds that were up for grabs.
